First, when I booked the hotel I was not told that the payment wasn't handled by expedia. When I got there I was informed of this and they did not take credit cards. I had to scrape up what pesos I jad to get in.
Secondly, there was no mention of how far off the beaten path this is. Once you leave the main road, you have 20km of cobblestone road.
That said, the room is charming. It has a brand new bathroom. There is a beautiful courtyard just outside the room overlooking this beautiful old city. A couple of negatives; thete is ony one electrical outletand there is no potable water in the room
All in all, jf you like quaint but charming this is a good hotel.
Upon arrival, large puddle around toilet and bathroom floor due to leak from toilet. When I alerted staff they gave me a long story as to why (water from the mountain). Staff uncooperative, gave excuses for the leak. (Just say yes, let us check that for you). When my son asked for an iron, they said they did not have one (The next evening, I asked for an iron and I was provided one). Extra bed linens stunk and were literally dirty (after alerting staff We got clean linens). The area around and above the sofa were dirty upon arrival (after alerting staff they reluctantly cleaned it) Very poor cleanliness . If you don’t care about cleanliness the property itself is pretty and has a nice view of the city.

Hotel agradable.
Real de Catorce is very high and cold. The streets are amazingly steep and roughly cobbled. Not easy to negotiate. Would not reccomend it for older ipeople, and not at all for mobility impaired. The Hotel lobby was remarkably cold, and left the doors open. The promised assistance to the bus at other end of town, early in the morning did not show. A difficult visit.
