There were four of us at this property, but there was definitely room for more. The house and location were as tranquil and peaceful as they look in the pictures.
The good: location, space, outdoor space, wonderful areas for gathering, hanging out, etc. size was perfect with all the comforts of home. Jim was a dream to work with.
The “meh” - there’s no air conditioning, and it was HOT. The house could have been cleaner, and some things need more TLC/attention paid. (I think whoever is managing the property relies on the fact that the owners are not there to check on it.)
The kitchen utensils, pots and pans, etc. are definitely “vacation house” quality. If you’re cooking for a crowd, you should think about bringing your own supplies.
The wifi is just not good. You will not be streaming anything, and zoom meetings are out of the question.
Overall, though, our stay was wonderful. We’ve already booked for next year! Frye Island is remote and quiet. This is not where you go for nightlife, but if you’re looking for a reasonably priced stay with a beautiful lake and a chill vibe, you’ve found it. The cabin is 0.3 miles from beach 5, an easy walk and close enough to come back for lunch!
