We really enjoyed our time in Chapel Hill visiting our daughter and grandkids. It was a wonderful location, close to everything. Very nicely designed and it was easy to communicate with Erin. We will definitely stay there again on another trip.
The property was exactly as pictured - clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Convenient to both Durham and Chapel Hill, with plenty of food options nearby (try Guglhupf Bakery). Erin was proactive and responsive during our stay, and we would absolutely stay here again on our next visit to the Triangle.
Enjoyed the house. Great communication from the Host. Very clean and a really cool mod-century modern vibe. Located in a beautiful neighborhood and ideal location. Would stay here again.
Clean, well-furnished and spacious for our family of 5. Appreciate that all the beds were king size and comfortable. Bathrooms are a little tight, but we managed. Close to central Chapel Hill and to my family members who live in Chapel Hill. Property manager is very responsive.
Great location - private but still close to everything
Property was well kept and clean. Location was perfect. Close to shops/restaurants and downtown Chapel Hill/campus/hospital. Yet the property is still very private and quiet. Saw many deer in the few days we were there. Highly recommend for a quick getaway in the woods with amenities close by!
We were very happy with our stay. The home is set amongst a mature forest, providing a lovely backdrop and views from the windows. Speaking of windows....the home has expansive windows that bring in lots of light. The kitchen is well-equipped and well-designed. The bedrooms are very nice, offering good space for 2 adults each. The dining room would fit at least 10 people, and has a lovely view. The home also has interesting smaller areas for when you want to get away from your crowd. A very nice rental experience for the 6 of us!
I’ve stayed in this beautiful mid-century house many times and continue to appreciate it’s cleanliness, amenities, well appointed kitchen, design, artwork, books, quietude and location.
The house was beautiful, the beds very comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. Erin was the perfect hostess and always responded to our questions quickly.
Great getaway weekend for my husband and I in beautiful Chapel Hill, NC.
Tranquility on a wooded lot but still close enough to restaurants and shops.
Perfect location and the peace and quiet we needed for a getaway weekend.
The mid-century modern home is a timeless classic and we can’t wait to return to this wonderful property!
This house is surrounded by trees and birdsong. Inside, it is very well appointed, aesthetically pleasing, and comfortable. Even the kitchen knives were sharp. We were all delighted with our stay.
Love the place. Three critiques
Front patio full of leaves and cobwebs
Front door locked different to open. Would not open.
Outlet in the front room near the bookshelf facing the patio spark when I plugged in my cell phone charger and burnt out the charger. Fortunately I did not have my phone connected to it
We had a very nice stay, but there were things that I believe should be approved upon. Pros: Beds were very comfortable. Styling of house was beautifully staged with wonderful Mid-century pieces and unique art work. Great location. The Brighthouse team was very helpful when we needed them or had questions.Cons: When we arrived, the front entrance was very dirty with leaves and spider webs everywhere. The back patio and table weren't even usable. It was covered in leaves and the table was all dirty. There were also dead limbs everywhere. The lighting was not great, it was very dark in all the bedrooms. In most of the rooms there was no overhead lighting, so you had to walk through the dark to turn a light on next to the bed (triping hazard). The place was not cleaned well. There were 2 large what looked like a Cockroach or Palmetto bugs on the floors, and the bathroom counters felt dirty. When we asked for an ironing board and iron, we were surprised for the size of the house that it only had a table top ironing board. They should have a full size ironing board in one of the tall cabinets. Lastly, I've been to a lot of VRBO types of homes and I was surprised that there wasn't a welcome kit that had a booklet with all the information about the house, wi-fi info and areas of interest around Chapel Hill. Also, almost all the homes I've been in provide you with a nice little welcome basket with coffee and treats. There was nothing like that. It's just a nice gesture.
Our group usually stays in hotels when we travel but decided to try a VRBO property this trip. Communication with the owner was excellent. She was willing to make everything perfect for us. The property is beautiful and the owner has cherished furnishings inside. We appreciated her efforts to maintain this type of house, however, at times, it caused us to feel a little intimidated and not able to completely relax. We were restricted to two rooms to have any food or drinks. The house has a no shoe policy but we were unaware of it prior to the day of travel, therefore we did not have notice to pack comfortable indoor slippers to wear. A multi-speaker Sonos system is promoted as unique to the property, but we were unable to make it work. The TV has no local cable or a streaming service available with popular channels (ESPN, ABC, NBC, etc.) It was a wonderful house for a visit to the Chapel Hill area and conveniently located near campus. We enjoyed our visit and the owner could not have been more accommodating. She offered to come by to help with any issues, but we had a limited amount of time and wanted to spend it with each other. I would recommend this property to others with the caveat of knowing the issues I listed beforehand. That is the reason it is rated 4 instead of 5.
This property was amazing! Everything was great, plenty of space for our group of 3 couples. Every single room was very comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed to make a few meals. Deck in the back was a great place to hang out! Owner was great and very quick to respond to any questions. We were in town for a cousins wedding, crazy coincidence this house was his grandparents house. We had no idea when we booked the rental, so that was a fun and special surprise!
