Situated below the mediaeval village of Radicondoli, this property enjoys an exceptional view over the Chianti hills, taking in the towers of San Gimignano and stretching as far as the Apennines.
This self standing villa, surrounded by olives groves and fruit trees, has a nice garden provided with an inviting (11x5 m. x1,20-1,60 m. depth), private swimming pool, available from April to October and a panoramic terrace for eating and relaxing in the open air.

Internally the house offers cosy rooms, is furnished with great love for details and provided with modern facilities.
Accommodation is offered on the ground floor of the house, whilst the first floor is not available for rental and unoccupied ( the property is let as independent villa with the exclusive use of the garden and pool ).

Just about 400 m. from the villa and easily reachable on foot is Radicondoli, which offers all essential services (food shops, restaurants, bank, tennis-court, etc.). The larger town with all kinds of services is Colle Val d’Elsa at approx. 27 km, San Gimignano 35 km, Siena 40 km, Florence 75, Pisa 95 km, whist the beaches of the Tuscan coast are within easy reach, at less than an hour's car journey away.

Ground floor: spacious living/dining room with fire place, kitchen corner with pizza log oven, and access door onto the furnished terrace; 2 double bedrooms each with access door onto the garden, 1 twin bedroom with access door onto the garden, 2 bathrooms each with shower/wc. Laundry room with shower (external access).

  • #TroveOn Yes, Monteriggioni just might be the quintessential walled medieval village in Tuscany. It's small enough to perhaps be called "cute" but you won't catch me using this term. Monteriggioni began as a border fortress built on a round hill by Sienna against the Florentines. It is famous for the intact defensive structure that held up against repeated Florentine attacks in the 11th century; its 10 meter high walls and 14 towers can still be seen for miles around. Monteriggioni has been featured in movies as a typical medieval village. The village is slightly elliptical in shape with two gates (a third has been plugged). The major gate tourists will use when coming from the parking lot, Porta Franca, owes its name to the Via Francigena--Monteriggione was a major stop on the pilgrimage trail from Cantebury to Rome. The Romanesque Church of Santa Maria Assunta will offer assistance with housing for modern pilgrims traveling the Francigena pilgrimage route. Monteriggioni was a sleepy village of farmers and sheep herders as late as the 1960's. Today it exists entirely for tourists and pilgrims. You'll find wine shops, a tasting room, restaurants and hotels in the small village. This is not neccessarily a disadvantage, although some times it's nice to see some locals puttering about once in a while. Where is Monteriggioni? Monteriggioni is located in the province of Siena, 14km to the northwest of Siena (54km from Florence). While it can be done as a day trip from Siena, you might be better off staying the night--Monteriggioni is much more evocative when the tourists leave late in the afternoon and you can sit in a courtyard sipping a glass of Chianti. Monteriggioni is surrounded by vineyards, and is known for its wine production.

Perfect vacation at Pondere Colombaia in Radicondoli, Tuscany

We spent a week at a beautiful property ("Sondere Colombia") in Radicondoli, Tuscany. The hosts (Mr. Virgilius and his wife) were charming, helpful, and very friendly and discreet. The house was perfect, everything was there, and it was very clean. The infinity pool was a dream. You could find everything in town, and the food was excellent ("La Pergola" with a panoramic view, "Il Nazionale" with local charm). Insider tip: The bar at the beginning of town is a lively place, and you'll meet lots of nice people. You can find incredibly beautiful works of art in the "Ammos" studio. The locals were super friendly and welcoming. All in all, a perfect vacation.

Great get away, very lovely countryside home in walking distance of a quaint village with excellent restaurants, a small market and bakery and butcher shop. You for sure will need a car to visit other places.

This property is incredible! Our host was gracious and so kind! We were able to go wine tasting day trips from here!The setting is so stunning!It would have been nice to have an English speaking host, but that was the only thing.

Unfassbar schöner Ausblick - der Weg zum Dorf ist sehr steil und man sollte trainiert sein (zu Fuß für ältere Menschen erschwerlich). Das Verwalterpaar oder Eigentümerpaar ist super sechs Sterne wert!

Idyllic spot

As a family of 4 we really enjoyed our time in Radicondoli. The home was very peaceful and the area was beautiful - the scenery was amazing and the local village was very pleasant for a walk around. The home is central to enable trips to a lot of the local landmarks and popular destinations. The owners were very friendly and the check in and out was smooth. The pool was a little chilly for us but we did visit in April and this was expected. A nice option for a fun family getaway.

Wir waren im Oktober in der Unterkunft. Sie war kalt, feucht und schimmelig. Für die Inbetriebnahme der Heizungsanlage musste der Eigentümer über eine Stunde anreisen. Das Haus war kaum auf Zimmertemperatur zu erwärmen. Für vier Tage heizen mit Gas wurden uns 50 Euro berechnet. Die Fensterrahmen waren undicht, was dazu geführt hat, dass sehr viele Insekten ins Haus kamen und sich in allen Zimmern ausgebreitet haben. Ein Wohlgefühl stellte sich nicht ein, insbesondere nicht in den Schlafzimmern. Wir sind deshalb auch vorzeitig abgereist. Leider sprach der Eigentümer nur italienisch. Klärungen mussten über die Agentur erfolgen, die sich anfangs bemüht gezeigt hatte, aber sich nach der Abreise auf Anfragen nicht mehr meldete.Das Außengelände entsprach den Erwartungen vollumfänglich. Euro berechnet.

Authentisches, schönes Landhaus

Wir haben die ruhige Lage auf dem gepflegten Anwesen sehr genossen. Auch bei großer Hitze im August findet sich immer ein Schattenplatz oder Erfrischung im großen Pool. Die Anfahrt durch die engen Gassen von Radicondoli und die steile und teilweise sehr holprige Auffahrt vom Haus aus sind nicht einfach zu bewältigen. Die sehr freundlichen Vermieter sprechen Italienisch.

Heaven on Earth 💓

This was our second stay. First time was 6 years ago - and it’s still amazing! The views are stunning, everything is so quiet and relaxed here. The pool is just perfect! The house itself is very authentic. Nothing fancy, but very clean, and you’ll find what you need ☺️ In the morning you’ll find shadow on the terrace and for lunch you can go to the pergola and eat your meal with stunning views. The owners (an older couple) might drop by once or twice to do some garden work, but they are so warm and friendly and won’t get in your way. The village is a 10 min (very steap ☺️) walk away. A small wonderful village with a little grocery shop, la Nationale that serves a cup of coffee, a wonderful pizzeria, la pergola (remember to reserve a table!), a little bakery, a butcher (only open 3 days per week), a pharmacy and a few other shops/restaurants that ensures that you have everything you’ll need during your stay :)

Excellent Villa

We loved our stay in the villa. The location felt rural enough but was also only a 10 minute walk into town (it’s a bit steep though) where there were some great bars, restaurants and a little shop. The pool has a great view and there is plenty of land (including an onsite vineyard). We had some challenges finding the villa by car due to some roadworks and the person who met us did not speak any English (we don’t speak any Italian), however a call to the property managing agent sorted this out. Would recommend!

Beautiful views with rustic charm

This was a truly beautiful location. Very quiet and peaceful in a remote medieval hilltop town. Access is a little tricky with the access road being closed for repair but going the wrong way through the one way system got us there ok! The villa was clean comfortable although the bed linen was childish. The swimming pool was fantastic if a bit cool at this time of year but we enjoyed it every day. The local shops and restaurants were really good as were the locals. A very enjoyable week.

Wir haben uns im Haus von Virgilio sehr wohlgefühlt. Der Pool ist wunderschön, der Ausblick ein Traum und das Haus ist traditionell eingerichtet, so wie es in die Toskana passt. Auch das Dörfchen Radicondoli ist super schön. Es gibt einen kleinen Supermarkt, zwei sehr gute Restaurants und sehr viel mehr braucht es auch irgendwie nicht - denn meist, möchte man einfach nur am Pool abhängen und den Blick über die schöne Landschaft schweifen lassen. Danke für den schönen Aufenthalt - wir kommen gerne wieder.

Gepflegtes Haus mit Garten in toller Gegend und bester Lage!

Ein altes, klassisch toskanisches Steinhaus mit schönem Pool und gepflegtem Garten, dass man ganz für sich allein hat. Der Betreuer (Virgilio) ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit, spricht aber nur italienisch. Wichtige Info zur Anreise, wenn man keine Strafe zahlen will: die ZTL (Zona Traffico Limitato) ist unbedingt einzuhalten und bei aktiver ZTL muss man die Ampelregelung beachten und entgegen der Einbahn im Uhrzeigersinn um Radicondoli zum Haus fahren und nicht durch den Ort.

Incredible view and pool

The owner speaks only Italian so it was tricky. Directions to the property impossible to follow. Best to ask the owner to meet you at landmark in town and take you there! The grounds, garden and pool area are magnificent. The location is perfect to explore Tuscany and the town of Radicondoli is a charming hill town. The house itself can feel gloomy as we were there during heat wave and had to shut all window shutters to keep the place cool. The owner kindly brought us a fan which helped. The bedrooms do stay cool at night. There is no living room per se, only a sofa in the kitchen. Lots of shady areas in the garden.

Great vacation

The house was exactly what it looked like online and the view ist just stunning. We loved the privacy we had since there is almost no one around you. We definitely can recommend staying here and would love to come back.

5 star view and the pool

Absolutely amazing stay, we will go back if given chance. View and the pool are spot on. The hosts were kind and professional. Property manager was extremely helpful and fluent in English. With the potential for so much, the property would reach them with very small efforts. Pool furniture was outdated, as well the kitchen appliances like leaking coffee maker and useless toaster. On rainy days the kitchen-living room is not the most comfortable for several people. Also kitchen lights could use an upgrade.

Lovely place

We loved this place. The grounds are absolutely amazing and the views so, so lovely. The location is very tranquil, the only sounds we heard on the property were sheep bah’ing and the church bells from town - magical! The nearby town is very quiet, but have a couple of restaurants. We traveled with kids and warmly recommend The Nazionale - very friendly and welcoming staff. Great location for day trips to Florence, Siena and Livorno!
