`High quality` are words synonymous with the chardonnay wines of Puligny-Montrachet, and the standard of accommodation offered by le Chevalier deserves the same billing. The renovation, undertaken by local artisans, and lovingly overseen by the owners, Australian wine makers Paul and Juliet, successfully integrates original traditional materials with those of a more contemporary nature to create a stylish, elegant and spacious living ambiance. Exposed beams, parquet floors, and tasteful French furnishings, feature throughout le Chevalier, and together with an expansive terrace, you are assured of a restful and comfortable holiday. Puligny-Montachet is a charming wine village, with a neighbourhood Boulangerie for your morning croissants, l’Epicerie for daily groceries, a cool wine bar for aperitifs, (say Bonjour to Julien) the popular village café, a choice of bistros, and Le Montrachet, an excellent, one star Michelin restaurant. This full range of true Burgundian, gastronomic experiences is just a short walk away. Paul and Juliet also own an adjoining one bedroom Cottage, The Mews, and while they are both independent of each other, they can be booked concurrently.
Features of Le Chevalier include: • First floor lounge with two large sofas, flat screen TV receiving UK and French channels, free Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth speaker • Living space leads to the very sunny and fully equipped kitchen with induction hob, multi-function oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and Nespresso coffee machine • Adjoining the kitchen is a spacious dining area with seating for 8. • Full width, sliding glass doors open directly onto the large, paved, first floor terrace, ideal for relaxing and outdoor dining, also with seating for 8. • Off the entrance hall, at ground floor level is a light and spacious bedroom suite with queen size bed and en-suite shower room, wash basin and wc. • Also on the ground floor is a second bedroom with twin beds, ensuite bathroom with shower, basin and a separate wc in the adjoining entrance hall. • A second large bedroom suite is at the top of the house which enjoys commanding views over the village to the vineyards beyond. It has a queen size bed, ample wardrobe space and en-suite bathroom with large basin, wc, free standing bath tub and separate walk-in shower. • Hair dryers supplied. • Air conditioning in the dining room and master bedroom. • The laundry room with washer, dryer and ironing facilities is separately located at the lower ground floor. • Car parking is available outside the home, and also often around the leafy village square opposite. • A `starter pack` of basics which typically includes: milk, sugar, tea, coffee, bottled water, salt & pepper, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar.

We were six adults (3 couples) on an adventure in France. This was the perfect base to use for our stay in Burgandy. I highly recommend and would stay here again.
Jill and Steve were great hosts. They had quick replies for all of our questions and great suggestions for places to eat. The house is clean with a well equipped kitchen and just about all the spices we needed for cooking. They have a basement that you can get to from the outside of the house, which we used to park our bicycles. We would definitely rent this house again.
The home was as nice and well maintained as advertised. The property managers were very helpful and quickly responded to our questions. A great base location for enjoying Burgundy.
We had a fabulous holiday. The house was perfect, the location was brilliant. Steve and Jill were always available and very helpful. The area is stunning.

Property of period and character in Burgundy.
We travel to Burgundy often and have been to Puligny Montrachet many times but have never stayed there. This is a property of great character on a main square in town. All the modern amenities with old world charm. We were there during the Christmas holiday to visit friends, so we could not enjoy the spacious and well equipped terrace just off the indoor dining area. This is a major plus for those visiting during better weather. The main living area is on the second level with an open plan living, dining and kitchen area which is perfect for entertaining or gathering together. The property is true to the pictures and very well equipped. Five stars for this fabulous getaway.
Le Chevalier is as described in the listing. The property is ideally located in the heart of the Cote de Beaune. Puligny-Montrachet is a perfect spot from which to explore the wonders of Burgundy. In fact, it was just steps to the boulangerie across the square and a short walk to the local bistro, two fine dining restaurants and several wine-tasting experiences.
The property managers were most accommodating. Their instructions regarding use of the property, appliances, internet, music, etc. were spot on. Their recommendations regarding activities in the region were excellent.
The property was well appointed and the kitchen was well supplied with everything needed to make Le Chevalier home. Two couples would be quite comfortable given the fact that the bedrooms with en suites are on different floors. A third bedroom again with en suite with two twin beds would be fine for a family in need of that space.
Our month in Burgundy was highlighted by the location and overall quality of Le Chevalier.
The property we stayed in was excellent and so so convenient. With Olivier Leflaive across the square and excellent restaurants within walking distance, including those in Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet it was the perfect place to be based as we renewed old friendships and make new ones.
We loved the house!! It was easy to live in: great, well-appointed kitchen, attractive furnishings, outdoor dining, and peaceful surroundings. We nested happily and were sad to leave.

Très belle maison, vraiment bien équipée et très confortable pour 6 personnes.
Belle situation pour découvrir les climats de la Côte d'Or.
Su nous à toujours répondu rapidement.
Je recommande fortement Le Chevalier. Pour moi c'est un 5 étoiles et nous y retournerions avec plaisir.

Das typisch burgundische Haus ist Teil eines Doppelhauses und liegt an einem zentralen Platz im ruhigen Ortskern von Puligny-Montrachet, an dem sich auch der Bäcker befindet, so dass es morgens nur weniger Schritte bis zum frischen Baguette bedarf. Es ist mit viel Stil und Geschmack restauriert worden und ebenso schön wie funktional eingerichtet (die drei Bäder zu den drei Schlafzimmern sind ein ästhetischer Hochgenuss). Zwei Schlafzimmer befinden sich im Hochparterre, das dritte liegt im Dachgeschoss und ist vom Wohnraum im ersten Obergeschoss über eine offene Treppe erreichbar. Die Ausstattung der mit dem Wohnraum verbundenen Wohnküche lässt absolut nichts zu wünschen übrig und der anschließende, durch eine Glaswand mit Schiebetür zu erreichende Balkon mit (weiterem) großem Tisch, Sonnenschirm und Grill lädt zum Essen im Freien ein. Der auf Strassenniveau gelegene, von außen wie von innen zugängliche Keller enthält Waschmaschine und Trockner und bietet Stauraum zum Beispiel für mitgebrachte Fahrräder. Su und David sind unkompliziert, freundlich und zuverlässig und waren bei Bedarf sofort zur Stelle. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden uns jederzeit wieder dafür entscheiden.
