Had a great time! Resort was very clean and had great amenities including two nice pools. It is very hilly but they offer golf cart pickups for getting around. Wifi and cell signal can be spotty at times. Would definitely stay here again!

Good condo, with a great view of Hanalei Bay! Pretty far away from parking but we were able to take a golf cart when we had luggage.

Would definitely recommend

Really enjoyed my stay here. The property is really beautiful. They have an amazing beach for snorkeling. The room feels slightly dated but the view from the balcony makes up for it. The location of the room is at the end of the property but we didn’t mind the walk and they also provided free pickup and drop off service.

Slice of paradise

This lock off unit is perfect for couples. Unit has a beautiful view of Hanalei bay. We spent many nights watching the sunset from the lanai. The property is beautiful and lush and perfectly located. We would definitely stay here again in the future!

HBR with great view

We've stayed at HBR several times. This unit is a quiet end unit with great views. Unfortunately, the unit is very small compared to other units and does not have a kitchenette

Great stay at HBR!

We had a wonderful stay at HBR. It was nice to have a mini fridge with a top freezer area and a blender in the condo. The unit itself was not very clean (many many dead bugs all over the windows and ground), and dirty dishes when we arrived, but otherwise nice stay with great amenities and responsive hosts.

The property is beautiful. The sunsets were amazing. The location is a bit isolated. You have to drive to shops and stores. The room itself was very nice but the door to the lock off doesn’t keep noise out.

The grounds of the Hanalei Bay resort were beautiful. The views were great as well as the pool, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The check in fees were steep and the unit itself was extremely dated. In need fo renovations and new furniture especially for the nightly price. The pictures are misleading. Also the unit was not entirely clean and the headboard had a smell that resembled the smell of urine. Would not book again

Overall it was a beautiful property with nice staff but here are biggest issues with this listing: 1. Resort fees: there were 3 digit $ resort fees for one night. To be fair, I later discovered they were on this listing but they are only seen if you hit “show more” at the very bottom in the more details sections. This is sneaky and deceiving in my opinion. 2. This isn’t a hotel or hotel accommodations - trash had to be taken out, products are not great, you don’t have a mini fridge in the room and your pool towels can only be swapped out at the front desk. You can’t get amenities like a rollaway bed. It is below the standards of a hotel. 3. The fancy restaurant is closed but the crazy thing is it’s listed as an open restaurant!! It’s on google as open, it’s on all the maps from the resort, etc., We went expecting a good dinner only to show up and see pizza. The worst part was the restaurant was closed 8 YEARS AGO. This is absolutely insane to me and inconvenient. 4. The hot tub - the pool is beautiful but the hot tub jets and below average and it closed at 10 and didn’t open till 8 or 9. 5. Most importantly, the listing doesn’t match the property! We didn’t have a kitchenette, let alone a coffee maker. Our room was a bed and a bathroom. It was many 200 sq feet not 600 sq feet!!

No Privacy

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The resort itself was a great spot, amazing pool, tennis court and a golf cart shuttle to the beach. I would come back but definitely would not stay at this condo. We were not pleased with the condo. The vent in the bathroom had so much build up dust, it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for years. The condo had a connecting door to a different condo that we were unaware about, which was fine but the door had a huge gap at the bottom. When I say huge, I mean I was able to put my hand underneath and grab our neighbors belongings. We could hear everything that our neighbor was doing as if they were standing right next to us and so we never wanted to be in room or make any noice. I told Kristin (host) about this and her solution was to put a towel underneath the door. Not even a little compensation. We were not happy especially since this was our 1st time in Kauai.

Musty Moldy smell and furniture.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were so looking forward to this quiet unit overlooking Hanalei and the mountains. Unfortunately the moment we stepped in there was a distinct musty/moldy smell which didn't go away even after opening all the doors. Running the air conditioner only made it worse. I eventually discovered mold actually in the air conditioner and growing between the slats in the headboard. I tried to contact the management company, but they took over 14 hours to respond. Meanwhile the smell was untenable and my wife ended up sleeping in our car. I slept on the lanai. We left after one night but still had to pay all the cleaning and resort fees for this subpar property. $500 deposit refund took nearly 2 weeks to process. Property manager was less than adequately responsive on multiple occasions. We ended up having to move to the nearby Westin which was literally a breath of fresh air. I DO NOT recommend this unit.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Already paid a lot for this property for one night, plus a hefty security deposit, and then was hit with a “check in fee” at Hanalei Bay Resort which I had not anticipated and was stuck with. Condition of the place was very nice, etc., but this property turned out to be much much more expensive than listed, which was very frustrating. I would caution to plan to pay much more than this is listed as.

Perfect Vacation Spot

My husband and I had a great time at the Hanalei Bay Resort! Perfectly located in Princeville, all of the sights and restaurants that we wanted to go to on the north shore were only a short drive away. We also watched the most amazing sunset while staying in this unit!

Great view and property

The place was perfect for a week getaway. The view from the balcony was beautiful and the property had way more amenities than we expected. The room also came with beach chairs and snorkeling gear which was a plus.

While the unit is a bit of a steep walk from the parking lot, the resort’s shuttle service makes it no problem at all. We were pleasantly surprised by how quiet and peaceful the property felt throughout our stay. The landscaping is stunning and lush with both cozy nooks for small gatherings and open lawns with games and lounge chairs. The on-site restaurants were a convenient bonus: a bit pricey and the food was just okay, but the views and atmosphere were incredible.The unit itself felt more like a spacious hotel room than a full condo, with limited kitchen amenities, but it was clean and comfortable. The king bed was comfortable, and we appreciated the mini fridge, coffee maker, and blender. Beach supplies were provided in the closet (cooler and lawn chairs). The balcony offered a beautiful spot to relax with a drink and take in the sunsets and sunrises.Everyone we encountered, both guests and staff, was friendly and welcoming.We also loved the private beach and pool area. The snorkeling was surprisingly good for how close it was to the unit, and the hot tub and pool were a perfect way to end the day.Overall, this resort is a gem. We’d absolutely love to stay here again for the beautiful views, relaxing atmosphere, and wonderful amenities.

Perfect for 2!

The unit we rented was perfect for our return to Hanalei Bay Resort! Although it was the farthest from the parking lot, we loved the privacy and direct view of the Bay and Bali Hi!! The unit was in great condition and had everything we needed! Thanks!

Beautiful Sunset Views at a Charming Resort

Views from the lanai of Hanalei Bay and Bali Hai are exceptional. The unit itself is a little outdated and could use a little love but it’s totally fine. The resort has a bit of an old-school field and I say that in the best way… We really like this place and would go back. The pool is exceptional

Good spot

Would 100% stay here again, only issue was the listing was a tad misleading as it indicated they’re was a kitchen but there was only a mini fridge. If you can get over that, fairly priced and awesome location.

Wonderful stay

That unit is the very last unit on the property and is furthest from everything, however, that is what made it ideal for us. It was a hike to get to the parking lot and pool, but it was secluded and away from noise. Beautiful views. The carpet is very dated and dirty in places, but it didn't bother us. The gift basket was very nice and the unit had all the essentials for two people. Would definitely stay again.
