All in all, this was a very nice hotel. It is located on a square that is very central, yet very quiet. There is a pleasant bar/restaurant with lovely seating outside on the square in warm weather.
The personnel are all young, but very friendly and helpful. The rooms are quite large. The room furnishings are “old fashioned” (heavy wood) in case that bothers you (it was fine for me). The bathroom was modernized and spotless. The breakfast was not spectacular, but OK. There was plenty of choice of both sweet and savory, and cold and hot foods – although the bacon was always raw and therefore, alas, inedible. Coffee comes from a DeLonghi machine.
I am deducting one star for my one negative: both the rooms and the hallways have plush carpeting that seemed very old. In the hallways, it was visibly grubby and in the rooms, it felt very unhygienic.
Once they replace the carpeting, this will def be worth 5*.
