We stayed for 6 nights at the new Wilde hotel in Porto and as soon as you walk into reception you can clearly see that a lot of thought and design had gone into making the area appealing and comfortable. We were met by Manuel who was charming and friendly and check in was swift. There was slight issue with our room in that I believed I’d booked a 1 bed apartment with a double bed but it turned out to have twin beds. Manuel insisted he would put the beds together as it was easy to do and he actually did this while we went out to eat. The room itself was really well furnished and you can tell that the fittings and fixtures are better quality than most hotels. I’d love to know where they get their amazing bed linen and towels from! The room itself has everything you need with lovely toiletries and a fantastic shower in the bathroom. It was spotlessly clean and had lovely little touches to make it feel more homely e.g pictures, books and vases. We were at the back of the hotel on the second floor which unfortunately doesn’t get much light so the room did feel dark at all times of the day. It also looks out onto a very lively and late night area with bars playing very loud music most nights until 3 or 4 am so I had to buy ear plugs to avoid being woken each night. We tried breakfast at the hotel the first morning but found it a little disappointing. I couldn’t eat my avocado on toast due to the amount of very spicy sauce on it so we found an amazing local cafe and ate breakfast th
