The apartment worked well for our stay. There was ample room for 2 couples. The apartment was well appointed. The elevator was very handy. And Bruno was an excellent host. He was very responsive and available to answer any questions we had. In terms of location, the apartment was about a 10 minute walk to a couple grocery stores. The river and port lodges were walking distance away, although walking down to them was easier than walking back to the apartment. Given the hills and narrower streets, parking was at a premium. Traffic was also very congested at times. So we chose to use covered parking to stow our car away and we used Uber to take us places beyond walking distance.

Beautiful Home from Home

Fantastic comfortable apartment with everything you need for a short or long stay. Good location, one straight road down to the riverside with it's selection of bars and restaurants - this means a walk uphill to get back although you can always get a cheap Uber if the hill is too much for you. Comfortable bed, plenty of wardrobe space, great air con, walk in shower, well appointed kitchen and all the appliances and extras you could need to truly make this feel like home for as long as you stay. An app means easy access to the building and the apartment and Bruno is available for any questions. We would definitely return and recommend it to friends and family looking for somewhere to stay in Porto/Gaia.

Superb appartment superb

Beautiful clean apartment was ideal for our family which consisted of four adults.The only negative was it was situated on a few long steep hill, but you can use the brilliant tram service into Porto.

It was a comfortable stay for a family of 6. The apartment was spacious with good beds and a large sofa bed. It was modern and well equipped with proper kitchen, dish washer and washing machine. The location was perfect, quiet and with nearby free parking, and away from Porto’s crowded, narrow streets, but still a short drive away. Bruno was easy to reach and regularly in touch. We had a a great stay and highly recommend.

Fabulous

The property was exactly as listed. The building is old but very tastefully decorated. We had absolutely everything we could need for our 6-night stay. Bruno was excellent to deal with and answered any questions promptly. The property is in Gaia, which I hadn’t realized initially but we were so happy we ended up in a quiet part of the area that was still close to all amenities. Have the ability to enjoy the backyard space was great. Opening the garden doors in the morning hearing the birds sing was one of my favourite parts.

The apartment more or less matched the online listing, but the layout made it quite claustrophobic, even for two people. Pots, pans, cooking utensils barely useable. High-tech oven-stovetop-microwave but couldn't figure out how to use them. Bruno was more than helpful when called on, but the property itself backs onto a busy street with 4-hour parking, useless for overnight. Misjudged how difficult it would be to navigate by car.

Schöner Kurzurlaub

Wir waren zu zweit und sind 5 Tage in Porto gewesen. Das Appartement befindet sich in einem Altbau, ist zweckmäßig/modern eingerichtet und hat uns für die Zeit ein schönes Zuhause gegeben. Die Kommunikation mit Bruno war immer unkompliziert und freundlich. Es sind einige Höhenmeter zu bewältigen, um von der Altstadt zurück ins Appartement zu kommen. Mit der Zeit haben wir "Flachländer" uns daran gewöhnt. :-) Noch ein Tipp: Am günstigsten kommt man mit UBER z.B. vom Airport zur Unterkunft. Taxi = 50€, UBER = 20€ Fazit: Wir kommen wieder!

Best for last

This was our last stop on our vacation and Bruno's place was the nicest of the 5 places we stayed over our 2 week vacation. Great communication with Bruno. We were able to get access a few hours early and he also allowed us to keep our luggage in the apartment for a few hours after check out. Located across the river from downtown Porto but it's just a quick15- 20 minute walk to river and tons of shops and restaurants. Also close to metro station if you want to take the train. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to Porto.

Porto 2024

We had a wonderful stay at Bruno’s Wine House. The apartment had plenty of room for us to spread out our belongings. We were able to catch the metro and tour Porto very easily. Vila Nova de Gaia is an interesting town, with all of the port wine houses located close to our accommodation. It was extremely helpful that Bruno had a washer/dryer available for us, since we had been travelling for over one week before we arrived at his property and finding a laundromat is difficult.

Good spot

The apartment was clean and as expected. Air conditioners present, but because that area of Gaia is quite humid, it felt damp at times. Street Parking only. Pay street parking nearby, free a couple of blocks away. Hilly area, like most of Portugal, but wecouldeasily walk north to Porto.

Loved Bruno's Wine House!

Perfect place to stay in Porto!!!

Bruno was an exceptional host and was very responsive. The property is beautiful with original hardwood and tile, beautiful decor and a perfect walkable location! I would absolutely recommend! Our family of four had a wonderful stay and were very comfortable!
