Villa Valinhos is located just under 15 minutes away from the centre of Alvor, a region packed full of alluring history and fascinating tourist attractions. One of the area’s most significant landmarks is Alvor Castle, which is situated around 15 minutes away from the villa. First constructed by the Moors, this castle suffered an immense ambush back in 1189. During this turmoil, many armies from Denmark and Germany merged to overtake the Moorish population. The castle was even victim to an earthquake in 1755 but still managed to maintain a plethora of its original structures. Guests must examine every element of this monument as a way to discover more about the Moors and how their immense architecture still upholds its legacy in the modern day.
 
Igreja Matriz de Alvor, also referred to as Mother Church of Alvor, this church works to express the immense religious legacy seen throughout this vibrant area. The exterior of this building is characterised by its tremendous white-washed walls with gold accents, giving the entire church a grandiose sense of elegance and charm. Inside, it is home to a vast accent wall that depicts the regal nature of Our Lady. It is also believed that these tiles were once found on a beach and were placed outside of the altar by local fishermen. In turn, this is a fantastic landmark to visit if you are eager to experience the wonders of art and religion in one unique location. Igreja Matriz de Alvor can be found around 20 minutes away from Villa Valinhos.
 
This region is also celebrated for its wide array of amazing beaches, such as the remarkable Submarino Beach. Although this beach can only be accessed via a steep hike, the journey is well worth the amazing views that are expressed here. Complete with an abundance of crystal-clear water and endless stretches of soft golden sand; this is an unmissable attraction for those looking to step away from the stressors of normal life and reconnect with the immense wonders of nature. This beach is also encircled by looming cliffs that help to add another layer of awe and inspiration. Submarino Beach is based just under half an hour away from the villa.

The local property manager will send you a registration form to be completed, with all travellers/guests details, before your arrival date. Please ensure this form is completed at least one week before your arrival in resort.
