"Overall, I had a great experience. The staff was helpful, professional, and accommodating throughout my stay. The continental breakfast was decent as well. The only downside was the pool area, which was very small for the amount of guests staying there. It honestly felt more like a large hot tub converted into a pool. Everything was peaceful during the week, but once the weekend came and more younger guests and children arrived, the atmosphere became much louder. There were children running through the hallways, knocking on doors and running away late at night, yelling in the halls, and leaving ice throughout the hallway areas. I was traveling with a newborn who is not even a month old yet, so it became difficult at times and I did have to make a few complaints. Despite that, I would still return because overall the stay itself and the staff were very good."

"The restaurant & pool were both closed. Didn’t know til we arrived. So no breakfast. Bathroom fan has been broken for a while because paint on ceiling was peeling. Staff was nice, bed was soft. Room was clean but nothing special. "

"I booked a king bed of course got 2 queens. No big deal. Room was on the highway side. Very loud. I actually thought the window might be open. Nope. Got in late, girl checking me in was not very pleasant. Morning staff was very friendly. Breakfast was decent "

"The Port is a special place - A historic hotel located in the heart of downtown Port Washington with views and access to Lake Michigan. The proprietor is very responsive and although not on site, ensures that everything runs smoothly. Highlights include a well-stocked guest lounge that includes great breakfast options, snacks and ready access to a full kitchen. Much thought and effort has been taken to make sure guests are comfortable. The suites are spacious and are tastefully decorated in a historic style. A good local restaurant and bar is on the lower level - operated by a different entity. Be prepared to walk up steps - 38 to the third floor. We always use stairs so this was not a hardship for us, but after a hiking all day, we noticed them. Our only frustration was the use of perfumes or scents within the room. We are highly sensitive to manufactured scents and were uncomfortable with the strong odor. Our request to the Port and all proprietors of lodging is that they use less perfume. Don't assume a scent you favor will be liked by others. Fortunately, we were able to open the windows to increase fresh air. You'll like this place!"

"Clean and convenient hotel. We e stayed here multiple times while attending events at Schroeder swimming pool. We like this place as it allows dogs. It’s a 2 minute drive to Schroeder. There’s a Dunkin Donuts nearby. There’s an awesome Thai restaurant within walking distance. I rated 4 stars only because the property is a bit old."
