RIVER ACTIVITIES
Launch into the water right from the backyard, with only a 5–10-minute paddle to the Weeki Wachee river. The river is family-friendly, perfect for wildlife viewing, and boasts some of the most beautiful scenery of any Florida waterway. The spring water stays a constant 72 degrees year-round, so it feels cool in the hot summer months and warm on a chilly winter day. Paddlers can take a break along the river and go for a dip, and various parts of the riverbank offer good stopping points for a picnic lunch. If you are a water-loving outdoors enthusiast, this river is a must. If you aren’t, you will be after a day on this river!

When you approach the Weeki Wachee River paddling from the house:

Turn right onto the river to get to Rogers Park and the Upper Deck restaurant, a popular spot to grab a drink and bite to eat while enjoying an elevated view of the water.

Or turn left to head towards the Weeki Wachee Springs State Park where you can see live mermaids perform. For anyone who prefers a guide; eco-tours are offered through the Weeki Wachee State Park and Boating in Florida. They will take tours upriver toward the headsprings while providing information about the surrounding flora and fauna, kayaking tips, and tips on river etiquette.

ADDITIONAL ATTRACTIONS
There are so many other amazing adventures that are just a hop, skip, and a jump from Weeki Wachee. Directly to the south about 50-60 miles is Tampa, Clearwater Beach, and St. Petersburg. Then to the east about 1.5 – 2 hours is Orlando and Cocoa Beach.

The cottage was the perfect place to unwind for a few days. It was spotless, the kitchen was fully equipped, and everything we needed was right there. The location on a canal right off the river is ideal for short or long explorations of the river via kayak. We'll be staying again!!

Super cute little place with easy access to the river. Unfortunately, the weather was cold and rainy so we had to seek indoor activities. Hope to return, so that we can actually enjoy the paddling and the outdoors.

Chris was a five star host. Modified reservations for us, with absolutely no problems. His home is beautiful, a good bed, and we enjoyed the kayaks. You can kayak to a popular eating place called the upper deck. I would not hesitate to stay again.

This was a great little house with all the things you need to vacation on the springs. We enjoyed our time, the area was quiet and close to major stores if you forgot anything. I would definitely rent from Chris again in the future.

The house was very clean and fully supplied with necessary items so we only needed to do grocery shopping for our specific tastes. The kitchen has labels on cupboards making it easy to find items and put them away. The kayaks were in good condition and we utilized them several times during our week-long visit. There was plenty of room for two couples.

I brought along my brother and his wife for Thanksgiving and they did not want to leave!! The house is amazing and smells marvelous!! Aside from it being unexpectedly colder than last year, we had a great time. We didn't get a chance to kayak because it was rainy but we did get a glimpse at a couple of manatees. I was just happy to get another opportunity to stay at this lovely little home.

We loved staying at this house. It was cute and just the right size for us — two adults and two teenagers. It was wonderful to have kayaks supplied. The only thing that we had a little trouble with was the air conditioner in the living room. It was a little difficult to see the controls because they were so high up so it might be helpful to have a remote control to use with it. We would recommend it to anyone!

We had a blast here. They had everything we needed for a sun-filled river getaway. It's a short kayak paddle to the spring water. It is probably about 2 river miles to get to Rogers park and the Upper Deck but once you know where you are going, it is a fun, easy paddle. Chris was a responsive host. The place is well stocked- with the exception of toilet paper, we did run out. Other than that, no complaints!

Let me just tell you how amazing this place was for our family. They literally have everything you could possibly need to make your stay PERFECT. We had zero stress, and an absolutely amazing time. We have stayed on the river previous times at different places and this is by far our favorite. We hope the owners will have us back because we LOVE LOVE LOVED it. The power did go out so we left super early the last day but that’s no one’s fault. Also the air was super comfortable it would get the place the exact temperature you wanted it. The paddle out was so enjoyable too. Pulling up to the riverside cabana we knew this was the place for us they have the cutest landscaping decor with two kayaks sticking out of the ground. So adorable. Just the cutest touches but not overdone. This is the place to stay for sure.

This property is the perfect little rental. Unfortunately we were here due to a family emergency and didn't get to enjoy the kayaks but we couldn't have asked for a better rental and experience. The property is perfect for a small group and is very clean and one of the most well-equipped rentals I've experienced. We travel a lot and have stayed in a lot of rental homes. This one is well organized with everything you could need and conveniently labeled. The beds are comfy with plenty of extra bedding and thermostats you can easily adjust and control. The location is extremely convenient and the outdoor area is great. We loved the screened in back porch and the outdoor area with plenty of room to relax and hangout. The check in and out process was easy and the host was very responsive to our questions. Even though we weren't here under the best circumstances, we enjoyed our stay and would absolutely come back here again and 100% recommend this property.

Getting into property was very easy. Property was very clean. Just fyi, both bed mattresses are memory foam, which are very very soft. The kitchen has everything you need. I would suggest you bring a flashlight or spotlight. We brought our fishing rods and I am glad we did. I caught mullet right off dock with bread . There are 4 kayaks and a couple of floats for river. We took kayaks down the river on Tuesday and floated right in front of property. We saw manatees while we were kayaking . But the most amazing thing was a momma and baby manatee were swimming right in front of property. They actually came up to edge of grass and they were both eating. There was a family staying next door with kids and the kids actually petted the momma
