Flynns Beach is just a 2-minute drive from Port Macquarie's Town Beach. It is a much quieter area and captures splendid afternoon breezes. You may be blessed with magnificent sunrises and opportunities to watch the whales as they migrate north in July/August, and back again in September/October. Why not relax at Flynns or any of the other beautiful nearby patrolled beaches, learn to surf, enjoy the numerous cafes, pubs, and restaurants, go on a hike on one of the many nearby trails, hire a kayak or SUP, or have bubbles on the balcony while you take in the majestic 180-degree ocean view. Koalas can be spotted all around this area! Camel rides on the beach are also a treat! A short drive to the two major shopping centres can please all tastes.
You can do a little or a lot in this wonderful part of the mid north coast. Highlights include Billabong Zoo & Wildlife Park, Sea Acres Rainforest Centre, Koala Hospital & Conservation, a range of art galleries, and the new Port Macquarie Observatory, whale and dolphin watching cruises. The Glasshouse offers a great range of live shows, and the cinema is on the main street. There are reputable local wineries that offer tastings and live music, and markets each month.
Port Macquarie is a two-and-a-half-hour drive north of Newcastle, New South Wales. Port Macquarie Airport is a 15-minute taxi or Uber ride from the town centre and Flynns Beach.
