The room was nice, practical and very clean. Breakfast was outstanding! Chia pudding, fruit, jam, - everything home made with edible flowers. We ate in the backyard by the cliff which is adjacent to the hotel. The cheese which was served acquired his final ripe process in the cliff’s cave from the 13th century. Unforgettable experience!

Wonderful stay

Philippe was a welcoming and wonderful host. Even though we arrived a little later than planned, Philippe took the time to show us on the map where to go for dinner, showed us our room and the facilities and didn’t rush us in anyway. The room was lovely and very well appointed. The garden was magnificent full of plants and old fashion roses that smelled of proper roses. The breakfast was a work of art, delicious and plentiful. The town centre is about 10/15 minutes walk from the house, via the foot bridge over the river. We only stayed one night but we would not hesitate staying at Clos du Moulin again and would certainly recommend staying there.

The best place to stay in Poitiers

It was our first experience of staying in a B&B and it was excellent. The breakfast was like a cordon bleu restaurant and fit for kings. The room was lovely. Large and very comfortable. The decor of the building was beautifully done. It is a 15 min walk to the centre across the river. Philippe was extremely generous with his time and the efforts he puts into providing an excellent service. His English is also extremely good.

Hidden gem!

Absolutely charming place run by an amazing host. Philippe’s hospitality is second to none. We appreciated all the small details that just make you realize how much he cares for his guests. This renovated historic house has so much to offer and is just a short walk from the old town. Breakfast in the garden was the highlight - all local, seasonal produce with some lovely touches (like the edible flowers and herbs from the very same garden). We’re vegan and Philippe accommodated without a problem. This is THE place to stay in Poitiers, without a doubt, very highly recommend it!

A little gem in Poitiers

We feel incredibly fortunate to have discovered this hidden gem in Poitiers. From the moment we booked our stay, the warm hospitality was evident through Philippe's prompt responses and attentiveness. The room exceeded our expectations with its exquisite furnishings and high-quality bedding, all impeccably clean and thoughtfully designed to ensure our comfort. Philippe is an exceptional host who truly pours his heart and soul into this beautiful home, conveniently located just a 15-minute walk from the charming old town center. His recommendations for dining were spot on; don’t miss “Le Comptoir du Marché” for a fantastic meal featuring fresh market ingredients and attentive service. Breakfast at Philippe's is a highlight—an outstanding spread that reflects his creativity and dedication. We cannot recommend this place highly enough. Thank you, Philippe; we will definitely be back!
