The confluence of two waterways make this area busy with water traffic and the waters around Point Judith are very cold and dangerous.
The site is very picturesque with plenty of locations to enjoy the seascape and take photos. The grounds are open to the public and there is enough parking space but the lighthouse itself has restricted accessibility since is still an active Coast Guard Station.
