「We were looking for a base for a few days away and this fitted the bill well. A couple of previous reviews had commented upon general cleanliness and we found a child’s toy under the dining table when we got there and an odd sock behind the sofa, suggesting the cleaning wasn’t particularly thorough. 「We loved our stay. The location is fantastic and for us with children being opposite the playground as well as such a short walk into town was great. Rye is just a lovely place and with Camber Sands and other lovely places to explore nearby you can’t go wrong with the location. The main living space is really well equipped with loads of kitchen stuff, sharp knives, comfy sofas and a great selection of books and games. The beds are comfortable and shower is a good pressure. 「We left after just 4 hours because the property was nothing like the listing. The photos give a far better impression than the reality.
Before arrival, I had to chase the host for check-in instructions as nothing had been sent. Even after calling, I was only given the key safe code. Later that day, after we’d already left, I received an email stating there was a £100 charge per pet, despite the Hotels.com listing clearly advertising “pets go free.”
