Very clean cottage with all the amenities you would need. We had a great supper at the rusty anchor, which is only a short drive away. Neighbours and dog barking across the street were loud at times when outside using the hot tub, but relaxing in the hot tub was still amazing. Overall, it was a very nice place to stay the night while we explored the Cabot trail.

Had lots of dishes, equipment for an overnight stay. After you pulled out the hide a bed, there was not much room left in the cottage. Would be best for a single or a couple that did not need the extra bed.

Cottage was just perfect for a getaway weekend. Passed through Pleasant Bay many times but never took time to explore local attractions which are beautiful and well worth the visit. We enjoyed the hot tub at the end of the day!! Thank you Brian & Elizabeth for sharing your little piece of heaven!Sorry pic not of area couldn't remove it!

Great Spot in Pleasant Bay

We had a great stay at the cottage while visiting Pleasant Bay. If you're hoping to go whale watching, this location is very close to a couple of whale watching companies. Literally just minutes away. We loved the private hot tub after a big day of various activities, including hiking.

Cozy cottage

Our family really enjoyed our short stay in this cozy little cottage. The private hot tub was definitely a highlight! Close to the Pleasant Bay harbour, whale watching and a rocky but nice beach. Highly recommend the Rusty Anchor resteraunt a short 10 minute drive away.

Perfect pit stop on Cabot Trail!

Stayed a couple of nights while touring the area. Great location and very comfortable! Clean and well-stocked cottage. Hot tub a treat! Some trouble with internet, but not a big deal…great to unplug!

We really enjoyed this quaint little cottage in Pleasant Bay, Cape Breton. It is in a very convenient stopping point along the Cabot Trail. The cottage is well appointed and having a private hot tub was an added bonus, especially to warm up in the cold weather. Hosts Elizabeth & Brian were very responsive.

Great spot!

Great location when youre travelling the Cabot Trail! The hosts are very kind and answer quick. Very clean, very cozy, hot tub is an added bonus and perfect way to relax after hiking. We would stay again if we are in the area.

Perfect Place

The Mactoimin Cottage was perfect for us. We were out early every morning for hikes and back late in the day. A couple days we were back early for coffee on the porch and soaks in the hot tub. Heavenly. The best part perhaps was that we were three minutes from the sunsets on the beach! Stunning. We did not do any cooking, other than coffee. I was a wee bit surprised how close to the road we were, but there were barely any cars that went by. The owners were so kind, even when I called one night at 8:30 p.m. to report I had lost the key on one of our hikes! Very gracious. The place worked perfectly for us, and we wouldn't hesitate to return.

Cozy Highlands Hiking Home

Cozy & comfortable home base just outside Cape Breton Highlands Nat'l Park. Easy & beautiful drive to anywhere you want to be around the coast & Highlands. We enjoyed the hot tub after long days hiking and exploring. The property is well maintained and Brian & Elizabeth are excellent hosts – quick to respond and very helpful. Excellent communication, place was spotless! Coffee, tea, and milkers were provided which was very much appreciated. Property was well kept and hot tub was in great condition (water was heated before we arrived). Would definitely recommend.

Pleasant Bay Cottage

The host was friendly and welcoming. The cottage is small (1 room + bath). It is clean and cozy. It can sleep 4 but it is very tight quarters. It is located close to amenities.
