"The rooms and facilities are beautiful and the staff very generous with their time and very friendly. The rooms are very nicely appointed and the views stunning. We had a private monkey and sloth tour, which was really cool. The downsides are that the lodge is isolated so you are a captive audience for an absurdly expensive menu for lunch and dinner. In addition, the lobby can be up to a 10 minute walk up and down a lot of steps from your bungalow, making it a small trek every time you want to get to the lobby. It's very expensive by Nica standards overall and, while beautiful, don't expect an "authentic" experience. "

"Always part of my assessment is value for the money paid. We had a choice and took the third floor. We had a million dollar view and the furniture on the outside deck on all the floors encourages you to sit outside. The room was comfortable. We had a bar fridge that kept the beer icy cold. Breakfast was a two minute walk to a waterfront restaurant. The food choices were plentiful and the food was quality. See you soon …"

"This hotel was AMAZING! For anyone who has accessibility issues, I would contact the hotel in advance and ask to have a room near reception/the pool. We actually timed it once and the walk was over 4 minutes to our cabin and there were lots of stairs. We're all able bodied so it was fine but I can imagine this would be difficult for some. The restaurant food was delicious. The breakfast was a buffet and it was amazing. We had 1 dinner onsite on our last day and all the food was incredible but it's significantly more expensive than eating in San Juan Del Sur. Most days, we went into town to grab a late lunch or fried chicken or street meat for dinner later. All in all, it was incredible. The pools were super fun, my kids loved the water slide and the waterfall jump. We saw howler monkeys. Watch for the monkey poo on the deck. The staff do a good job cleaning it up but it's still there sometimes. The horseback riding from the property isn't crazy expensive, it was like $46/horse, which was very reasonable. I had already booked a private tour through someone else so we stuck with that. The room does have an inventory that you're supposed to review within 3 hours of checkin, the bowls and drapery rod were missing from our room so I reached out to them. The front desk use WhatsApp and are very responsive. Also, something to note, the power went out 3 times during our visit, only 1 time was it for over 30 minutes, the other two times were short. Just something to know. "

"Casa Pamela is paradise! A gorgeous private home with a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean, its own pool to cool down from the Nicaraguan heat, a thatch-covered "rancho" to laze in the hammock reading and to serve outdoor dinners watching stunning sunsets into Playa Nacascolo. We stayed for four weeks in February/March of 2026 and will definitely be returning! The home is spacious, colourful, and inviting. It proved larger than we expected. All bedrooms are air conditioned. The master bedroom has a sliding door out to a balcony overlooking the pool--the perfect spot for morning coffee, shaded from the midday sun. The kitchen has all the amenities desired. We cooked terrific meals throughout our stay, purchasing fresh seafood from the fish market by the wharf and fresh produce from the many locally run markets.San Juan del Sur has scores of restaurants and bars, all within walking distance of Casa Pamela. The hill up to the property is steep (500 metres long and likely 100 metres of elevation), but the walk into town is reasonable, taking about 35 minutes. There is a resort at the foot of the hill, as well as a restaurant with infinity pool called Villa Francia a stone's throw away that we loved for wood fired pizzas on Sundays. Stacey is a wonderfully attentive owner, and Francisco, our host, was extraordinary throughout our stay--he would even drive into town to pick us up when we didn't feel like walking home. Casa Pamela is a hidden gem!"

"Very nice experience overall, not suitable for seniors as it is very steep (lots of stairs) Gets really windy at night The kitchen was great however could have a better coffee machine, specially being in Nicaragua where the coffee is amazing. The pool was not ready for us before hand so we only enjoyed it 2 days out of 2. The keepers were excellent, very helpful. Having solar back up power was great the power went out once in the neighborhood and we were the only ones with power so that was pleasant. Price was reasonable for the time of the year."
