"Jose’s apartment in Plentzia was a wonderful home base for our time in Spain. The space was cozy, bright, peaceful, and thoughtfully stocked, with excellent storage solutions that made the apartment feel organized and comfortable. We especially loved the clever vertical shoe storage and the fully functional kitchen, where we enjoyed slower mornings making coffee and tortilla de patatas before heading out for our daily adventures.The apartment was also beautifully personalized with some of Jose’s own impressive paintings of local spots, which gave the spaces character and reinforced the culture we were immersed in.The location was fantastic, with grocery stores nearby, a metro station directly into Bilbao, yummy bakeries, pintxos spots, and the gorgeous Plentzia beach all within walking distance.Most importantly, Jose was an exceptional host. He was kind, warm, communicative, and especially thoughtful toward both us and our children throughout our stay. He genuinely cared that we were comfortable and was always quick to help whenever needed. We truly enjoyed renting from him and would absolutely recommend his apartment to anyone visiting Plentzia. "Fourth time we have stayed there over the years, it is convenient for the bridge across to Bilbao port and offers a good range of local ameities nearby providing you can find somewhere convenient to park. We could not get the air con / fan working that evening. They have upgraded the rooms compared to the previous visits and the picture accurately shows the view we had. The improvement work continues and IT IS NO ANSWER TO SAY IN SPAIN BUILDERS ARE ALLOWED TO START AS EARLY AS 8:00 WHEN WORKING IN A BUILDING. IT IS A HOTEL - GUESTS MIGHT LIKE TO SLEEP IN, THAT'S OFTEN WHAT THEY PAY FOR - IF THE HOTEL CANNOT CONTROL THE BUILDER'S START TIME (UNTIL SAY AT LEAST 9 WITH WARNING) PERHAPS THE MANAGEMENT SHOULD LOOK ELSEWHERE / PERHAPS CHANGE PROFESSIONS, AS THEY CLEARLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE BASICS OF RUNNING AS A HOTEL OR CLOSE PROPERLY FOR RENNOVATIONS. My suggestion that such an early start (on a Saturday morning) was not really what you'd expect from a professional hotelier was just met (from morning staff) with a shrug of shoulders. it's Spanish rules! Very welcoming Breakfast good, albeit with just one member of staff there, to check people in and find initial coffee plus attend to eberything else there are understandably longer waits then should be the case for some of the food replenishments to come out. "
