"Lovely house, very comfortable and well equipped for a family for two weeks near to climbing areas. Fireplace with a good supply of firewood very welcome for chilly spring evenings. Very helpful and friendly host, tolerant of my limited french language skills! We would recommend and definitely stay again."

"We had a nice stay here for two weeks. The covered veranda was good for a dry storage of the pads as well as hanging out during rain. The nearby sport-area is good for the kids. There is a Shop in the village and lots of bouldering areas are easy accessable by bike."

"Wow! Our group loved Helene’s place. The town is 1 hour train from Paris and you can get a taxi to the house although don’t rely on Uber/bolt. The pool area is wonderful and the grounds of the house have a lot to offer. The bedrooms are large and quite a lot of them have ensuites. The second house is attached to the main house and offers a quieter space for those that want it. The only issue our group found was some struggled to sleep because the house only has windows to cool down at night...

"A great apartment. It's very big and spacious and everything is new and it's been decorated to a high standard. It's great having two large double rooms and the bathroom is ideal. Large living area and very well equipped kitchen. Very clear check in instructions are given. There is an extra cleaning fee of €60 if you don't want to strip the beds, mop floors and take out the rubbish yourselves. "We stayed for 9 days to relax, visit Paris and boulder in Fontainebleau forest. Gîte du Val D’auneau was the perfect base. Incredibly spacious, private and well appointed, we didn’t want for anything. Excellent pool area kept the kids happy for hours a the lovely covered outdoor dining area was a wonderful place to eat. Andréa and Philippe were the perfect hosts, they answered a questions promptly but allowed our privacy. Very highly recommended "

"Hotel was a nice surprise. It's not modern, but authentic and with a typical French charm. To say it's a romantic hotel is a little bit too much, but we enjoyed our one night stay while traveling through the country. Restaurant was very good, no need to search around."

Great place

"Wow! Our group loved Helene’s place. The town is 1 hour train from Paris and you can get a taxi to the house although don’t rely on Uber/bolt. The pool area is wonderful and the grounds of the house have a lot to offer. The bedrooms are large and quite a lot of them have ensuites. The second house is attached to the main house and offers a quieter space for those that want it. The only issue our group found was some struggled to sleep because the house only has windows to cool down at night and there were also lots of bugs. Someone in our group also fell down the stairs and broke their foot, the stairway is a bit steep in case you have elderly people. The second house had a lot of bees inside the house, I think there is a nest somewhere that needs to be relocated. All in all, a fantastic house with a great set up. We had the best time."
