"We had a great stay. The owners are so welcoming and laid-back that it promotes an easy-going relaxation that one might feel when staying with family, rather than an unknown entity. Ann and Billy are generous and seem to truly want to share their property for guests to enjoy as if it were their own. They are up front in what they are offering, not claiming to offer a luxury resort stay, but rather a pet-friendly, homey sort of feel, which we appreciated. The addition of historical context and free-range feathered visitors added interest and topped off the peace and beauty of the place. We had a wonderful, calming stay and would definitely do it again. Loved it."

"We are returning guests every Labor Day weekend. Very spacious for 2 families. The 4 kids are young adults and look forward to this weekend every year. Paula has always been extremely easy to work with and we LOVE her home. Thanks again for another great weekend. Hope to see ya next year!!!! I am attaching my son’s photography project from the cove. It was a hit this year."

"All in all the stay was great. Very well kept house. Plenty of room for us (we had 12 people in the house). Hot tube was excellent. Communication with the host was excellent. They answered questions quickly and were very responsive.There are a couple things that kept the review to 4 and not a 5.1) we selected this house thinking there was access to the river from the house. There afe docks, but they are private docks and renters not allowed on the docks to fish or swim. The listing does say that There is public access and that is correct. However, the only public access is a very small dirtpath that takes you to a steep rocky bank that is unsafe for older people or kids. The "public access sign is covered by a corp of engineer sign and you had to look behind it to even notice if that was the path. That was very disappointing to pay that kind of money and not be able to get to the river to enjoy it especially when there is a dock and other people enjoying a swim or fishing right behind the house and we couldn't do the same.Should have a dock for renters who may have a boat or a place to swim and fishing confusing. The house is so nice and needs to have a dock for people to really enjoy it.2) Master Bath -It has a shower and no tub, which is perfect, but no shelves to put your shampoo/soap and there are no grab bars for elderly people and there really should be slip resistant pads or something to prevent people from slipping.Other than that, it was a great stay."

"We decided to plan a family trip with our children and grandchildren (8 adults and 9 grandkids). We couldn’t have found a better house! The minute I entered the house, I knew I wouldn’t want to leave! It is beautiful!!! There’s so much room! Two separate outdoor living spaces with fireplace and lots of seating, ping pong, and hot tub. Fire pit outside on patio. The owners thought of every detail to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. When I had a question, they responded quickly. Wax Marina is just up the street. We rented a large pontoon and enjoyed the lake. The entire weekend couldn’t have been better. It was so much fun, we are thinking this could be a yearly gathering."
