Communication was good and the house is nicely renovated. There was plenty of space for our group of six adults. The living room is small, so we overflowed into the dining room to have seating for everyone. The neighborhood is older but it felt safe. The owners provided everything we needed, and some things we didn’t expect.
Positive surprises: a spice rack, comfortable beds and soft linens. Ceiling fans in every room. Ample labeling.
Negative surprises: The rental listing when we booked said check out was 11 a.m. but we were then told 10 a.m. when we checked in. There were labels on the thermostat to keep it at 74 degrees or higher. The air conditioner also stopped working for eight hours during the hottest part of the day. We contacted the manager and she was told by the owner to change the filter. Several hours later, she let us know that a repair person was contacted but they could not come out until the next day. It was Memorial Day weekend so we understood, but it was hot. We ended up fixing the AC by checking and flipping the breaker. It was 79 degrees in the house as we got ready for bed that night. While there are ceiling fans in each room, that only goes so far. We couldn’t open the windows to let in cooler night air (it was in the mid-70s outside) because the bedroom windows didn’t have screens. There are mosquitos in Phoenix, and even more when you have a pool.
Overall, it was good. With many options, we probably wouldn’t stay again.
