There was a mouse running around my room and when I contacted the staff via text, I was only given the option to switch to another room. This would be insufficient since the mouse eventually left my room by crawling under the front door. The response from the facility was totally abhorrent and the idea that they have a rodent problem is disgusting.

Mouse in my room.

I saw a mouse in my room on my second night. I emailed and message the supposed 24/7 hour service to check out the situation or get me a different room. In which they couldn't because they were fully booked which I completely understood but they kept telling me they would have someone come out the next morning but never sent anyone out. As a customer I was very uncomfortable staying in the room and ultimately nothing being done to address the situation other than telling me lies and suggesting that I buy mouse traps.

So the site itself was nice, but my stay was full of issues for what I was paying per night. Although customer service was prompt and responsive, they didn’t offer accommodations until I mentioned it. My first room had a really bad water leaks from the room above (I had to use a trash can to catch the water and towels). Once I reported this, maintenance came the next day and of course the leak never revealed itself so they were unable to repair. If I had not requested to move I would’ve stayed the entire stay in that room. The next room had a huge roach in it and putty all in the shower from previous repairs (it looked like a bunch of soap clogging the drain) and neither rooms had heat, and unfortunately I was there during this weird May cold front we experienced. Although my stay wasn’t the best I would probably still recommend Kasa for people looking for something quick and in a decent area, as long as they can walk up steep stairs!

We never got to check in… apparently they sent an email that I never received. Please request a refund! Not sure who they sent the email to but it clearly doesn’t state where the original email was sent, I’ve checked every inbox and never received anything, even if I searched for the email that forwarded me the cancellation email

Great boutique hotel in West Philly

No frills and easy access to the room. Room was clean and had modern amenties. Location at 40th and Chestnut was perfect. Note there is no hotel staff on site but everything is done via text. I only wish they bad luggage storage after check out but otherwise an amazing stay!

Great location and pleasant. Problems: air conditioner condensation dripped all over the kitchen counter and onto the floor, making it unsanitary and unsafe. They need to put a drain in. Also, steep stairs are difficult for me and they were not shown in the site info before booking. Other than this, room was nice. Bathroom was great!

The space is very nice, modern and clean. It is a walk up, so if you have luggage you need to be prepared to go up steep stairs as there is no elevator. They were very responsive to my questions and concerns. It is conveniently located to the University of Pennsylvania. It is in a generally safe area, but it is not an area you want to venture too far by yourself at night.

A literal party wall

Industrial chic recently renovated. A bar with music into the wee hours is adjacent to the bedroom. If you like eavesdropping on bar patrons and dancing to your favorite reggae beats, the bedroom is a prime spot.

The room was very nice and clean, however the lock on the door was loose but still functioned and the only amenity was a fridge which was good for storing snacks and a coffee maker that did not work. Other than those two things I found the place very chic clean and safe and the local area very nice. I would definitely book again.

Do not stay here if you want to sleep.

Misery from start to finish. Bar downstairs blasts music non-stop - Niche pretends to care but does nothing that makes a difference. YOU CANNOT "SLEEP" HERE - which is all we wanted the place for... We reserved at the last minute as we were driving several hours to Philadelphia. Unfortunately after we reserved thru hotels.com (and pre-paid for both nights), we were sent emails that we did not see while driving for 5 hours. We arrived expecting to have information about how to enter the property, instead we had an email demanding that we immediately send a deposit worth more than the hotel rooms - and which was NEVER mentioned on hotels.com. (Bad on them too). Niche also wanted photos of my ID & credit card - even though I had already paid for the room and was not about to send that info over the internet. It took 45 minutes of phone calls to deal with their requirements while we were exhausted and dying to use the bathroom. Finally got in .... Room is ok, basic, one cup in the entire room. Cheap amenities... We were immediately assaulted by insanely loud music ... unfortunately music was louder when we came back to go to bed. Both nights we were kept up by loud music - niche offered a different room, but we had already settled in and I don't think it would make a difference - the music was overwhelming. The problem is cheap windows and a bar downstairs that doesn't care. (I did ask that they turn the outside speakers down).
