「Relaxing atmosphere and a cracking breakfast」

「An absolute gem! A wonderful authentic pub offering such comfortable and friendly accommodation. The restaurant food is delicious and the full English breakfast is the best I can remember. The village is delightful.. and we were lucky enough to stay a Thursday when there is music, and we also had the best Mortis dancing! Such a memorable stay! Thank you」

「Staying on db&b basis for one night to break a journey, my expectations were not high. However I was wrong! The very ancient pub is just by the Abbey and it is welcoming and our room was very clean if a bit dated. Bath & shower worked well (loads of VERY hot water!) and the bed was comfy. Electrical points in odd spots, but probably practicalities dictated. Dinner was a restricted choice from the full menu but cooking and ingredients of real quality. 「I booked through Expedia and paid at the time of reservation (night before the stay). I was then charged again when I checked in. I’ve tried reaching out to The Star but with no response so it looks like I’m not getting my money back. Very frustrating!」

「I never received any messages to say that I had to contact the hotel if I was arriving after 10pm from Expedia. Only when I arrived and reception was closed did I look at their website which stated that fact. Therefore I could not stay because I couldn’t check in and had no choice but to drive away. I understand it was not refundable, but I did expect to stay the night at least. In summary I got charged for the pleasure and couldn’t even stay. I paid for breakfast too. Poor communications. 「コッツウォルズ地方に車で行くために利用。１６世紀くらい？の建物に１Ｆはパブ。その上に部屋があるイメージです。パブは午後１０時まで営業なので、それまではガヤガヤしています。私はお酒をあまり飲まないですが、お酒を飲むのが好きな人はいいかもしれません。建物が古いので部屋はとても古いです。シャワーとトイレは共用。駐車場は公共のものを無料で利用しました。海外に慣れた人や細かいことを気にしない人で無いと厳しい宿だと思います。宿としてのサービスはほとんどありませんが、その割には料金が高いと思います。基本的にパブがメインで商売をされているようです。」
