Family Vacay

Spent a week with my 2 grandkids age 16 and 7. The unit was clean. The kitchen was well supplied with dishes and cookware. Pool was nice and just a short walk to beach. Very kid friendly. The only negative thing was there was construction going on and it was noisy at times and also parking was hard due to Thee construction. They were up front about the construction when we rented the unit. All in all it was a good experience and I would definitely rent this unit again

Not clean

The property is not well maintained, there was broken pieces on both bathroom cabinets and one of the side tables in the living room, and grout missing from a part of the floor. We were not left with enough linens for all the beds so had to sleep on a bare mattress the first night. The beds also weren't made up. We found the blankets in the bedroom closet and made them ourselves. Now, the more concerning parts: it was not clean. The floor was black in the crevices, the curtains are discolored where many hands have grabbed them to shut them and they've obviously never been cleaned. There was MOLD on the curtains. Clumps of dust on the ceiling that were falling on us throughout our stay. I brought all this to their attention and all we got was a maid that came to sweep and mop. I was told nothing else can be done because the unit has to be vacant for a deep cleaning and the curtains need to be ordered. The location is great. If you're interested in staying at the Island Princess, I encourage you to look for other units not managed by Brooks and Shorey because these are not issues that spontaneously pop up overnight. This is the result of not properly cleaning and maintaining the property between guests, period.

Island princess

Parking was very good always found a spot steps away from our front door. Room was nice and in good condition and clean. It had all the necessities, towels, toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels, etc. I loved that there were a lot of towel hooks so you could hang up all of your stuff! Beautiful view of ocean and pool! 10/10 would visit again

Family Vaca

I was pleased with everything with this property except the bedroom. It's listed that it would be a queen size bed and it is actually a full. My fia ce and I had to sleep separate the entire vacation because of it. Other than that it was enjoyable

We have stayed at island princess many times . Always enjoy it . This time we saw a few roaches that concerned us. There was food left in the oven by the previous visitors. Was not as clean as it should have been. We still enjoyed our stay at okaloosa island .

Overall Good

The unit itself was just fine. The sleeper sofa is broken and needs replaced. The unit does NOT have a covered parking spot as was listed. Do make sure you realize it is above the pool and next to the elevator so you must be able to handle the noise.

Family of four vacation

Great location, condo was close to parking so didn’t have to take a bunch of stairs or elevators to get to the room. Beach was nice and loved having the beach chairs each morning reserved. The condo was a little too close to the pool. It was very noisy on the patio since it was above the pool, couldn’t hear the waves. Despite the pool closing at 10pm, this wasn’t really enforced at all, we really didn’t get to sit on the patio and enjoy the view. The inside had a nice layout. Could have been kept up a little better. There were new appliances which was very nice and appreciated, but there were places in the bathroom that needed repair and upkeep. The bunks in the photos showed privacy curtains but when we arrived there were none so we went out and bought some, not a big deal, but still an inconvenience. Overall, nice place, but would chose somewhere different next visit.

Perfect location

Perfect location. Amazing beach. Everything made easy. Wifi was spotty- seems to be an issue on the whole island though. Condo very comfortable and view was incredible. Condo felt very lived in and worn.

Nice facility, good location

Nice facility in a good location. Enjoyed the free activity, Cattywampus Sunset Dolphin Cruise, very much. There was sand on the floors and a spot on the kitchen counter. Supposed to be designated parking space, but we couldn't find it. Saw a roach in the middle of the night on the kitchen counter - called and asked for pest control, but don't know if they came.

Too Noisy to enjoy

When first arrived, discovered that the room was between the pool and the elevator. The picture shows the location above the pool, but the description of the unit did not indicate the amount of noise that created. Constant yelling occurred until 11 pm every night. Then going to bed, the unit was right next to the main elevator. the noise of the elevator going up and down was loud and continued all through the night. The floors were so dirty that if you walked in bare feet, they were black from a walk from the back to the front of the unit. There were three light fixtures not working and when we arrived the stove had tripped the breaker and did not work.

Great stay!

Was a great place to stay! We loved how it was so easy to get to the car if we parked on the top of parking garage. Just like the pictures. The balcony is right over the center of the pool closer than it seems so if you like privacy and want to be out there a lot you might not like it. We spent a lot of time at other places so it was good!

Worst Vacation Ever

We have made Island Princess our vacation getaway 3-4 times per year for a number of years using VRBO. We have always loved this property and Okaloosa Island. This trip was, however, the worst vacation we have ever had. Looking back it was anything BUT a vacation. Upon arrival, we were disappointed to find no working A/C or washing machine. When dealing with the property management company, Brooks and Shorey, they were pleasant and alluded to a compensation for the nonexistent washer. BUT there was no call initiated by them after our departure in follow up . . . no apology, no thank you for letting us now repair previously broken appliances during your personally paid vacation, no what can we do to compensate you, no anything. Not wanting to be THAT guy/THAT gal writing a bad review, we sent an email to Brooks and Shorey hoping to come to a fair resolution. We were met with a compensation offer of $133 and some cents. Not sure how this figure was calculated, but it hardly seems fair considering our experiences as follows: We like a good adventure and meeting new people as much as the next guy, but the next 5 days of vacation were spent with 13 different service people in our condo, some making numerous visits. If you enjoy being given a 3-hr window to expect the service guy every day; handwashing your laundry, dragging box fans around to stay cool, running an obstacle course thru the narrow hall for 1 1/2 days around the displaced washer/dryer, and having your very own water feature, aka a broken water main, then Island Princess 208 is for you. We are extremely disappointed with the condo owner and with Brooks and Shorey. We paid for an ocean front condo and only really had one day of vacation without having to "work" for Brooks and Shorey and the owner, cleaning up and meeting service people. Very disillusioned, VRBO!

Great

Overlooking the pool was incredible. The condo provided everything we needed to have a wonderful stay. The only issue we had was with the cable. It didn’t work for the first few days we were there, but then randomly started working again. Sort of made the experience better though since we didn’t choose to stay couped up and watch TV, but instead went out and explored.
