"Off to a bad start due to the, otherwise very pleasant, owner pouncing on us as we arrived following a day of travel. We really just wanted to be left alone to arrive and unpack. Not the right time to attempt to convey information and instructions as we unpacked from the car.
Nicely situated geographically with a lovely view of the sea from the front facing windows (the only windows unfortunately) and front door. Unfortunately, a public footpath goes straight past your only windows and front...

"Properly was nice and central to the town. Activities in walking and driving distance.
Only downside is they dont want dogs upstairs but do not provide a gate on the stairs. Having to make a makeshift block not easy."

"Kitchen was stocked with bread, butter, milk and jam, which was lovely but there was NO tea or coffee. However, given how dirty some of the mugs were, that probably wasn't a bad thing. There were also dirty trays left in the oven and drawer. Rest of cottage was clean thankfully. However, frustrating as limited power points, and no shaver socket in bathroom for toothbrush. Bedroom door handle/latch was very stiff and hard to open. Shower temperature dial was also VERY stiff. It was stuck on...

"Our stay at Y Cartws was lovely and relaxing, very cosy cottage. Was amazing to walk the ground and interact with the goats and horses. The nearby river was very relaxing to listen to, especially in the hot tub at night. Hot tub is at a set temperature which cannot be adjusted.
Amenities were great, kitchen is well stocked with utensils and had delicious home made brownies waiting for us.
Property was mostly clean but there was some negatives, bathroom was either mouldy or mould stained....

The Black Lion Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Lovely overnight winter stay. Hotel and rooms are spotless. Comfy bed with quality bedding, everything felt of good quality. Excellent shower and modern bathroom.
We chose the Black Lion as we prefer to stay and eat in establishments that do not allow dogs and there aren't many now ( I know some people would disagree and want to take their dogs everywhere but we all need a place we can feel comfortable in and every other venue in town seems to accept dogs now so dog owners have plenty of options).
We had a meal in the bar which was excellent quality and breakfast was included in our stay with plenty of choices available.
Attention to detail in the refurb of the building is a credit to the owners and staff. It is just a beautiful building!
Last but not least every member of staff we met were friendly, engaging and professional so all in all a fabulous stay and I would highly recommend. Hospitality like it used to be!

"Great view, Great place, everything needed was there, WiFi worked well, just need a bit more sun next time but it was a December booking after all ;)"
"Enjoyed my stay in the hotel. Friendly staff, great location, clean and tidy rooms, great breakfast options and the amenities were fantastic. Will definitely go back again. "
"A large property, well set up and brilliantly located near Poppit Sands. The rooms are a good size and the kitchen well equipped. There's a secure rear garden which is also a sheltered sun trap. Hosts friendly. Lots of places to eat. Short walk to the Teifi Waterside Hotel or short drive into St D's. But best of all, a short walk along a track between the rise and sand dunes to a 1/2 mile wide beach "
"Cosy cottage with every amenity. It was easy to park opposite. We didn’t use the garden as there was a heatwave. When at the cottage, we tended to stay indoors and keep the curtains closed. The owner was very helpful when we asked her for advice. Two very minor criticisms - I did find the bed a little too firm for me, but ok for my husband. A also I would have liked the shower head to have been detachable, as I forgot my shower cap. "
3 bedroom accommodation in St Dogmaels, near Cardigan
10/10 Excellent
"The property was ideal for our family - wife, son and Dog. Everything was very clean and well laid out, plenty of space and every facility we needed. There was a great view of the river Teifi estuary which was very welcoming and picturesque to wake up to every morning. There was plenty of places to walk to, including Poppit Sands Beach - ideal for walking the dog and having a dip in the sea. We caught some crabs from jetty just 2 minutes walk from the property. It was a great location to visit all the local beaches and coves on the west coast of wales near Cardigan. Highly recommended."
