A Happy Seagull’s French Fry is a beautifully decorated, modern beach home located directly across the street from the sand in South Litchfield. With 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, there’s plenty of space for families or groups to relax and enjoy coastal living.

The main level includes 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, featuring two rooms with king beds and two with extra-long twin beds—ideal for both adults and kids. The 5th bedroom is located on the ground level and has a double bed, cable TV, and a private full bathroom with a walk-in shower. Please note: this bedroom is separately accessible and does not have interior stairs to the main floor.

Guests will enjoy modern amenities including central HVAC, ceiling fans in all bedrooms and porches, a brand-new full-size washer and dryer, both a coffee pot and Keurig, a tea kettle, air fryer, crock pot, dishwasher, and high-speed WiFi. The home also includes 6 HDTVs, a DVD player, CD player, high chair, two pack 'n plays, beach chairs, toys, and a 5-ft deep private pool (not heated).

One of the highlights of this home is the Tiki Bar by the pool, featuring a full-size refrigerator, bar stools, hot/cold sink, plenty of poolside furniture, and a ping pong table for hours of fun.

After a day at the beach, rinse off in the hot and cold outdoor shower, then gather around the large dining table or enjoy a frosty beverage under the fan-cooled porch. This home is designed for memory-making, and we can’t wait to welcome you!

Fun in the Sun!

The outdoor area is awesome! Spent so much time in the pool. Took awhile for us to find the washer/dryer. It is located in a room by the driveway and was also filled with pool floats and chairs. The inside of the house is fine. Shows some wear and tear and the drinkware in the kitchen should be updated. Only one of the bedrooms had a useable closet, but in the other bedrooms, hooks on the walls we all over. Close to grocery stores and restaurants. Went to the beach bar at the nearby Litchfield Inn. We were all adults but the house would work for kids too. Overall, outstanding vacation!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have rented this property 3 years in a row. The first year it was immaculate and the price was reasonable. The second year the price went up significantly and property was not as well maintained-the pool was missing a large amount of tile, waterfall didn’t work and the porch ceiling leaked when it rained. This year the price when up significantly again-porch roof leak which I reported with pictures of it leaking-is still there, access to the roof deck has been boarded over to prevent access as it is falling apart (and we were there during a meteor shower, how disappointing), bathroom had obviously had a water leak around the toilet at some point and baseboards remained with brown water damage, and the back up air conditioning drain over the kitchen window poured out water all week. We are staying elsewhere next year.

VaVa-Cation needs a face lift

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Having stayed at this location multiple times, we were discouraged to see how run down it has become. Realize it was the end of the season, but don't think the condition was because it was late in the season. Tiki Bar needs cleaning and paint, no handles on refrigerator, shrubbery in need of trimming. Laundry room - was afraid to go in there. Appliances were terribly rusted and dirty, burner on kitchen stove not working, bathrooms - mold on shower door tracks; the entire house needs a thorough cleaning!! The roaches were terrifying the grandchildren. We were told it was sprayed regularly, but we couldn't leave any food out because of them. It is a cute house with lots of sleeping space, but it is in dire need of the face lift.

Great Location

The property was perfectly described. It had an old school South Carolina feel which we really liked. The back yard was perfection. The pool was great and there were so many chairs and loungers. We loved the front porch, back deck, and the pool deck. Plenty of outdoor space for everyone. We never even sat in the living room! The beach is so close. We were a bit confused and had anticipated a busy street between us and the beach. What we found was a quiet residential area so that was nice! We have stayed in houses ON the beach and been further away from sand than we were here. We tend to cook all our meals. There is a Food Lion grocery store just a few minutes away. The beach shop up the road was stocked with souvenir items and was reasonably priced. The taco truck in the adjoining parking lot was a lunch time hit with our teens. A few in our party ventured to Charleston for a day trip, a few others enjoyed golf at Founders. We rented four bikes for the week and had a blast exploring nearby. If you like to eat out, there are a ton of unique dining options on 17. The rental company was fantastic. Easy check in and check out. We reported a door knob issue so they could fix it for the next renters but they sent someone out right away. A severe storm hit our second night. The management team stopped in to assess damage and make sure we were ok. Overall this place was perfect for a multigenerational vacation!

However, the cleanliness of the house when we arrived was an issue. The bedrooms in the house were clean, however the dining table area had a lot of crumbs and food still on the chairs and under the table. The floor in the downstairs bedroom off of the pool was completely disgusting. Clearly there had been no effort to clean those floors as they were covered in sand and dirt. The cleanliness of the house certainly needs to be improved. Also, the highchair provided by the house is an antique-looking wooden highchair which is rusted and does not look safe or clean to use to feed a baby. Since we had a baby with us we contacted the rental office and they brought over a newer highchair immediately which was greatly appreciated! The pool was a great addition to our vacation and was used every day. Aside from the cleanliness issues we really enjoyed the amenities and location of the house.

The house has a variety of places to hang out and spread out. We were disappointed that the rooftop was not accessible, as advertised... We feel this should have disclosed to us ahead of time. We also had a few minor issues with the plumbing (maintenance came and fixed), and the pool. The pool company came twice during our stay, both times were unexpected. While we know that this is necessary and we ultimately appreciate it, we also would have liked a notice that they were coming. Lastly, there is hardly any storage in the rooms. There is only one accessible clothes closet in the whole house. The room with balcony access didn't even have a dresser... just two bedside tables. If dressers/furniture don't work, more hooks in the rooms could help. We look forward to staying in this house again. We just hope to be able to use the whole house, such as the roof, and store/hang our clothes.

Great house!

Reviewer Comments: 2 very brave moms and their college-aged kids (with a few college friends added in) recently stayed at A Seaside Va Va-Cation and loved the property! There is plenty of fun for everyone with a pool, ping pong table and a great backyard around the pool for games like cornhole, ladder ball, Frisbee, etc. The weather was cool but beautiful and the kids all stayed around the pool during our time there, enjoying the amenities. We cooked in almost every meal, and the kitchen is very well stocked - LOTS of pots/pans/utensils for all of our needs. The only (very small) criticism is that the stove eyes need work - they don't sit flat on the stove unless a heavy pot is on them, so saute pans are slightly angled as we cooked (see, I said it was VERY minor!) Tidelife (rental agency) was extremely easy to work with - very friendly and accommodating - head and shoulders above other companies I've used in the past. There was nobody checking in the day after our checkout, and they made sure we knew we could stay past the stated 10am checkout time - a very nice luxury given that getting college kids moving early in the morning is a herculean task! :) I highly recommend Tidelife, and will definitely use them for future needs!
