We checked in on a Wednesday night, reserving our suite for a week. The quote that first impressions mean a lot, well... that is true, which surprises me that this beautiful room was completely voided by the ridiculous hot air that filled it. It was so hot in the room. I understand that they want to save on energy so they ask the customers to put the thermostat to 72 when they leave, but knowing that we were checking in, and knowing that their air conditioning units are not great, it would have benefited them to come in and cool the suite down, to negate a horrible first impression.
The facilities are lovely and we actually enjoyed the swiss antique feel of the suite.
Having access the resort amenities was well appreciated, as we enjoyed the pool often during our stay.
The weekend of our stay there was a music festival that seemed like it was fun. It cost $30 a person so we decided not to partake in this event, but did enjoy hearing some of the music from the resort courtyard. However, although enjoyable, the very fact that outside visitors came to the resort for the music festival, stole away from finding available parking. We had to park incredibly far away from our room and then because of the horrible air conditioning units our windows were open at night, so we heard all the drunk visitors leaving and parting in the streets next to the villas.
On Sunday afternoon, I decided to do laundry and having it located on the same floor was very nice. I however, got locked out of our suite with clean laundry. I kept trying to get a hold of Kyle and after an hour try contacting the resident property manager, as per the email sent at the beginning of our stay. He eventually was able to come and look at our door, no codes were working and it was noted that the batteries had gone out on the lock. He went and got more batteries and after almost two hours of being locked out, I got in. Kyle eventually did contact as well but not until after we got it figured out. That was a real inconvenience.
I had asked Kyle at the beginning of our stay if we could have room service on Friday and Sunday of our stay. We did get it on Friday but not Sunday. I contacted him and then on Monday the housekeeper knocked on the door and said they were too busy on Sunday to get to us, do we want it now. We said no, as we were getting ready to check out on Tuesday. Kyle did not charge us for either day of requested service.
Midway is beautiful and so is the resort.
