I wanted to give this a 5 start rating, but unfortunately just can't. It's in such a wonderful location, with public transit accessible to go in any direction a tourist would want. The space inside was lovely despite a slight chunk of paint missing from the wall(doesn't bother me). Something i didn't see in any review was the mentioning of this apartments extremely musty smell. Because the bathroom is so small and without ventilation, it all leaks into the apartment and sticks around, even with the window open. There were even some parts of the paint on the wall with bubbles inside them filled with trapped moisture. I find this problem inexcusable mostly because a large, quality dehumidifier would fix this is easily. Because the cabinetry is dank and dark, it also has a musty smell as well. Every utensil or dish in the cabinet held the musty smell trapped in there. I understand that these old building aren't designed with ventilation in mind, but it looks like there was a spot for a fan inside the bathroom. There was a filter that's long past replacing, it looked like there may have been a vent fan installed there at one point. My only other nitpicks are that the curtain over the window is pretty dirty and had a little bit of mildew and the refrigerator (despite turning it up to the highest setting) just wouldn't get cold. It's a shame, because this really would be a perfect option. It's a great price, in a great location, but I suppose that's at the cost of its livablity. If you have a tolerance to that sort of thing, then this is perfect. Me as an asthmatic, not so much.
