First thing you should know is it costs 30 to park in the onsite lot. On top of that you have to pay an extra 6 per person for a completely useless wristband. Most of the gates with code locks were broken. Although this was a beach front condo there was no private beach access. I would've thought after having to pay for wristbands that there would be a private beach with someone patrolling it but that was not the case. Didn't see these hidden costs at first and had to go back and read the fine print at the bottom of the listing. Condo was good enough I guess. Little outdated and beat up. One of the kitchen chairs looked broke and curtains didn't want to stay closed. Ice maker in the freezer didn't work but there were a few trays in there.

Big mistake!

We had difficulty entering the property. The key pad wasn't working as it should. We had to enter a 10 digit number that only worked occasionally. We were locked out a number of times. Each time we reported this to the rental company with no help from them. We wanted to go to dinner but were afraid of being locked out again. On a phone call with vasaca I was told to go to dinner and they would send someone to fix the problem whi we w gone. We came bac from dinner and were locked out for 2 hours before we gained entry. We never set foot on the beach the entire day. A local person finally contacted me that evening and said he'd come over if we needed him to. It was after 8 and we declined the offer. He told us to unlock the slider door if we needed to go out so wecould gain access. He also offered to let us stay an additional 4 hours the following day to help make up for our inconvenience. We took him up on this. All of this took place after driving 1100 miles from home. I was in tears throughout the day just trying to access entry. No one should have to experience this type of stress while on vacation.

Great location

Overall we loved the condo. The address we received via email was incorrect so it made finding the condo harder than it should’ve been. The oven and microwave are outdated, but still met our needs. We would stay here again.

The Negative Reviews Are Accurate

I went into this trip knowing that there were bad reviews such as the unit being out dated, things being run down, the fold out couch being broke, the company providing the wrong address, cleanliness issues etc. I was thinking that those issues would be resolved and the location to the beach would make up for it. NOPE! I had all of the same issues! 2 days before we were supposed to arrive we got an email from the property manager advising there was renovations but all balconies were open. NOPE again! We could not use our walk out access and there were men working on our windows the whole time. The communication was awful from the property manager and VRBO. We do not require the best of anything but a comfortable stay is important, especially when traveling with teens. The beds were very uncomfortable, the fold out couch was basically unusable due to the huge slope in it. The TV in the bedroom was tiny, which may not make a difference to some but again traveling with teens, everyone needs space and comfort at the end of the day.

Vacasa Customer service was awful.

The couch pull out bed was broken and could not be used. After 12 phone calls and three text conversations with Vacasa, they finally brought me an air mattress two and a half days into our stay. I will never use this app again if I can't filter out Vacasa rentals.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Property company sent us the wrong address, so check in process took over two hours as they were not answering their phone or their emergency text line. We found the unit on our own (address provided was 9650, a parking lot, and actual address was 9840). I called the number again the next morning to complain: the person who answered took all my information so he could "have a supervisor" call me back, but I never received a call back. The unit was old, rusty all over and smelled of mildew. One of the 4 burners on the stove worked (a small one in the back), the oven barely warmed up and the microwave did not have enough power to cook bacon (after 5 minutes it was still not cooked.) THIS EXPERIENCE WAS HORRIBLE.

Serious Renovations Needed!

If I could rate this lower than a 1, I would. This condo is in serious need of major renovations. The pictures are very deceiving and can be considered false advertising. Although it took several times, the code box was hard to work to get inside the condo. There were no directions as how to work it. Since the code was 10 digits long, it was hard to punch the numbers fast enough which resulted in it starting all over. It was ridiculous! When we finally got in and rounded the corner, we came to the kitchen. The floors were VERY slippery. A drawer would not open unless the dishwasher door was open and down. We did not even check the stove/oven. It appears that the condo may have been flooded at one time as there were many fans in the bedroom closet. The carpet in the bedroom was a dark brown and looks like it has not been cleaned in a very long time. We would not go barefoot. The switch for the overhead light/fan did not work and had to be turned on using the pull chain which was hard to reach (over the bed). The mattress was lumpy and very uncomfortable. The hair dryer in the bathroom did not work (I did not take one since it was listed as being there). The tile floor was very slippery (my husband almost fell). These are just a few of the problems. The only good thing that could be said about it was the fact that it was ground floor and was directly on the beach. There was a private gate that led to Pineapple Willy's that was nice. It was a quick walk from the condo. Those were the only two good points. My advice...do not rent this condo!

Broken door

Our door was broken and we couldn’t get into our room until the day after we came. The door constantly messed up and we lost so much time being on the phone with the people from Vacasa. It was extremely stressful, especially after finding out that they knew the door was broken but put us in the unit anyway. Got a call on out last day, 08/26, saying they were refunding two days of our cost. They still haven’t refunded the money. Will not use Vacasa again.

Condo from hell

So, we arrived pretty late (around midnight or a little later- We had work then a 6.5 hour drive.) We entered the unit to find someone else’s trash in the kitchen, crumbs on the counter, ketchup (?) on the kitchen floor, greasy hand prints all over the dining room table, dirty towels thrown in the bathroom floor and on vanity, dirty sheets on bed, dirty carpet in bedroom, sand all in the floor, black ants crawling on the kitchen counter. There’s an electrical plug in the living room that has no cover so the wires are exposed. We have a five year old so definitely a safety hazard for anyone traveling with small children. We called the rental company Vacasa as soon as we saw this. After talking to two different employees and waiting a while, all they could say was they could not get in touch with the property manager and there was nothing else they could do so we were basically left on our own… To clean someone else’s mess! My husband ran to the store to get bleach and Clorox so we could wash sheets, scrubs counters and floors, and the nasty bathroom tub. The pull out is broken- any slight weight at the head of it and it will collapse to the floor. We finally got in the bed around 3:30am after cleaning and washing everything. I also called Vrbo (twice) and they had me send in pictures and said they would get me in touch with someone to help find another property. Left on hold for over an hour and no one ever came back to help. We sent pictures to the rental company as well. The rental company said they would call us in the morning and no one did so we called them. They sent someone to clean the unit around 11am that next morning. She was nice and did a decent job. The rental company said they would call to discuss compensation for the troubles but they did not. My husband tried to call twice and got no answer. I did see a credit on my card which I’m assuming is the compensation- possibly the first night rental rate? We also had to buy cleaning supplies and Sunbird charges you to use the washer and dryer. My husband emailed the property manager asking her to call him. She finally emailed back a few days later saying she had been sick and out of office but never called as he requested. He then explained the ordeal in an email to which she never responded or acknowledged the problems with the unit. I wish I could upload the photos to help. This could be a good unit with good location but as it is now, I would not recommend.

Unit needs some work/updating

Location was great! Close to everything. Swim trunks behind bathroom door. Stained pillow. Sofa bed broken-had to rig it up so we could sleep on it. Floors were dirty. Linens for sofa bed were stiff. No extra blankets, not even for sofa bed, just a fitted sheet and a flat sheet with pillow cases. Had to purchase some linens for it that were useable. Small ants in bathroom and kitchen. Overall a so-so stay. Tolerable unit with minor problems. Very convenient to beach and pool. Views were amazing. Wish there was privacy tint on all the windows as we were on the ground floor felt people could just look in as they walked by. Kept curtains pulled despite view. Balcony open to other guests walking by so you don’t have a secure place to put things from beach like towels, floats, coolers, etc.

Very misleading photos of this property

Upon arrival we noticed several things about this rental that were not acceptable for the price we paid. First was the master bedroom window with no blinds in it. This unit is on the ground floor so that open window was within steps of the pool & another unit's patio. This issue was remedied after a few phone calls & being told to "tack something up" to substitute blinds. There was black mold in the ceiling tiles of the bathroom, ants in the kitchen & bathroom, the carpet in the bedroom was filthy, the closet door was broken, there was a hole in the living room floor, outlet covers coming off the wall, & the bed is falling apart. Over all this place should not be rented for the amount of money that is being charged. It is in need of repair & a deep cleaning. The pictures online are not what you are walking into. Also upon arrival you are charged $40 for parking & "mandatory" wrist bands which we had not been informed. My significant other rented this unit for my birthday weekend & honestly if we didn't drive 6+ hours to get there; we would have left.

One and done

Thankfully our trip was just a short one (2 nights). My kids were eager to get to the beach upon our arrival but the first thing I noticed was small ants in the bathroom. It wasn't many, but it's still not something we should be experiencing when we pay what we do. Once finally getting back in that evening I realize there were ants in the kitchen as well. After going back through reviews, this has been an issue since February. I emailed Tessi to let her know at 8:22 pm and did not receive a response back until 1 pm the next day. No apology, nothing, just " We have a ticket put in for this and I have let HOA know." Again, fortunately we were not staying long so it wasnt a HUGE deal. Also, the left arm on the couch is broken and was not noticed until we went to get ready for bed and then we didn't even want to pull the sofa couch out to prevent further damage to it. The bed in the bedroom is probably the worst bed, super uncomfortable, so don't plan for a good nites sleep. Please be aware also that the prices for parking and armbands is NOT as listed on this site. Be sure to get the code(s) allowing you on and off the beach ahead of time and save them all... it's like playing Russian Roulette, you never know which one is going to work for you. The positive in this location is the view from the room is amazing, the first floor worked perfect for myself and my children, plus having the pool right there. The attendants at the gate were absolutely amazing.

Mini vacation

The property was in an excellent location on the beach. The only thing I wish from our stay was that we had chairs to sit in outside the patio. I would rent this location again! Had a great relaxing time! #Sunbird...😊

Omission of facts

We were not told this place was under construction until after we reserved it. There was no patio, there were construction workers everywhere, inside and out. Bedroom carpet was filthy.

External work on the building caused us to be moved.

This was a terrible experience. There was work being done and no one had informed us. There was nothing that said not to go outside our door. They were dropping stucco off the building and we could have walked right out
