We picked this house because of the pool. Upon arrival, we noticed that there was a green film covering the walls of the pool. Try keeping 5 kids out of the pool while you brush the sides (not happening). We loved this house, the quiet neighborhood, the closeness to a great beach (truly walking distance)--we had everything we needed. Unfortunately, 3 of us ended up with ear infections by the end of the week. The house otherwise was clean and perfect for our clan (11 total). The kitchen was well-equipped for all sorts of cooking and baking. A few notes: the blender parts don't quite match, so you have to push down hard to engage the blade (very loud), and the 3 coffee makers do not come with a basket of any type, so bring filters (there's sm and lg drip coffee makers, and a one-cup type). The gas grill worked great, and there is an in-the-door ice and water dispenser on the 'fridge. We used the sofa bed (there are 2, but you can't use both at the same time), however, there is a large, glass-topped coffee table in the way of pulling them out. We moved that onto the back porch for the week. This worked great and we put together puzzles and played games there. Unfortunately, the roof leaks in 2 places (where the transition areas are), and one of our puzzles got ruined. We left another behind for next guests. We used the outdoor shower, which was great after going to the beach. The screen door on that side has trouble latching and there is no tension arm to pull it closed, so that was a bit of a pain, as the door would randomly open all week. It is so nice to have such a big area screened in, and we enjoyed hanging out at the pool most of our waking time! We took the beach toys to the beach (thank you!) and were glad for the washer and dryer. There was ample liquid dish soap and bar soap in the bathrooms. There is parking for 3 (possibly more) vehicles. The neighborhood supermarket, Carousel, has most things you might need. I would have been content to stay in Laguna Beach the entire week, as traffic to PCB is not so nice. The water pressure went out one night around 10, and I called the emergency number. The woman called right back and told me there was a main water line break and they were working until it was fixed. (I did some research and it looks like this happens a lot--there's a lot of construction going on in this little town).
