We absolutely loved our stay. We actually chose Calella de Palafrugell because of this house and its setup for our family. We were traveling with our 3-year-old and newborn, so having direct, easy access to the beach was incredibly important to us. It made everything so convenient.
The views from the house are absolutely stunning — 10/10. The location is truly special, and waking up with the Mediterranean right outside was one of the highlights of our trip.
We had planned half-day trips to several other places along the Costa Brava, but ended up leaving Calella only once. The house, beach and town had everything we wanted. Calella de Palafrugell has wonderful restaurants, beautiful beaches and coves, and plenty to explore on foot. The coastal walking path to Llafranc was another favorite, with beautiful views and easy access to another beach and small town.
The public walking path around the house didn’t bother us at all. We actually enjoyed meeting people walking by, and our 3-year-old loved waving to everyone. If complete privacy is important to you, it’s worth knowing.
Having a garage a few blocks away was also a huge plus since parking in Calella can be difficult.
The house manager was wonderful - very helpful, funny and extremely responsive whenever we had a question.
I normally like to visit somewhere different when we travel for pleasure, but we are already making plans to return here next year.
