Porthcothan House consists of a kitchen with Aga and free-standing Module, electric oven, gas hob, microwave, US fridge/freezer, Miele dishwasher and coffee maker, utility room with washing machine, dining room with seating for eleven people and woodburning stove, sitting room with 42″ HD TV, Sky, DVD player, DAB radios and a woodburning stove, conservatory with furniture and drawing room with woodburning stove. The bedrooms feature a super-king-size with an en-suite bathroom, four super-king-size rooms - all zip/link - and a single room, serviced by three bathrooms and a ground-floor shower room. WiFi, fuel, starter pack, power, bed linen, and towels inc. in rent. Outside, there is an enclosed garden with a lawn, patio, gravelled area, barbecue, sun loungers, and furniture, as well as private driveway parking for five cars. Max. 2 well-behaved pets are welcome. Smoking is not allowed. Come back year after year to Porthcothan House. Note: Maximum of eleven guests (excluding infants under 2 years old)
The Neighborhood:
St Merryn is a typical Cornish village, located within two miles of the coast and close to the picturesque harbour and fishing port of Padstow. Surrounded by some of Cornwall's best surfing beaches and golf courses, St Merryn is a holidaymaker's dream, offering two pubs, three restaurants, a chinese takeaway, a chip shop, mini markets and a Post Office, yet St Merryn remains within easy reach of the area's visitor attractions. The vibrant town of Newquay is eleven miles down the road, boasting three major beaches, the National Surf Centre and an endless supply of rolling surf, making it a paradise for watersports enthusiasts. Newquay also offers good shopping, a zoo, a Sea Life centre and a variety of nightspots, clubs, pubs and restaurants. Set back from the main holiday crowds, St Merryn is an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding area at your leisure.
