Saltbox - Pacific Grove House - Two Blocks to Beach and Downtown!

Ready for a great vacation in “America’s last hometown?” This is it.  You’ll find vintage charm around every corner in this classic Pacific Grove home. The cozy living room (with seating for four) opens to the dining area (with a table that expands to seat 6) and a coffee station (with a Keurig and a drip coffee maker).   Sparkling quartz countertops and a beautiful tile backsplash highlight the kitchen, which includes a four-burner gas range with a griddle, a rolling butcher block island, and a 24” dishwasher. The laundry room is behind the kitchen, along with a full bath with a curved shower.  The light-filled bedroom off the entry has a Queen bed, comfortable reading chair, and an adjoining office with a desk. A narrow stairway leads to the master bedroom (King) and a third guestroom with twin beds. The upstairs bath has a clawfoot tub/shower.   Relax in the sunshine in the Adirondack chairs out front, barbecue out back, stroll to the beach, or head downtown to explore restaurants, cafes, galleries, boutiques, antique shops, and a cinema. With everything in easy walking distance, you may park your car and never use it.  Street parking only.   Pacific Grove Transient Use License #0472

Location is Wonderful

Saltbox's location is the best part about it. You can walk to Lover's Point, many restaurants and easy access to the coastal trail which we loved. It has some pretty steep stairs that were not ideal for our one year old walker and some very thin walls which was also not ideal for privacy amongst our other guests. Another issue we had was that the toilets didn't flush every time. They would flush if we manually filled the bowl or about every third try to flush.

Great stay in Monterey!

The property was charming and plenty of room for adult and two teens. Great location just off the beach and blocks from downtown. Neighborhood was quiet. Highly recommend.

Fabulous Property with Great Location

This property was true to all of the website photos and descriptions. It was extremely comfortable for five adults. The house was clean and well-supplied. We dealt with Michael and he provided prompt answers to any questions as well as very detailed info about what would be in the house for our use. Bedding and linens were top-notch. Outstanding cleanliness, quiet location steps from Lover’s Point Park and waterfront trails

On a cousins’ weekend, we three had a lovely stay in this clean, quiet and spacious home, steps from the waterfront as well as restaurants on Lighthouse Ave. Great contact with VRBO management at all times- we highly recommend this delightful vacation rental and hope to come back again soon.

Perfect family spot

This small house was the perfect place for our family to gather for 3 days and enjoy the ambience of the Monterey area. The kitchen was well-stocked for cooking, always appreciated, and the neighborhood was quiet. We were even able to always find a parking place nearby on the tiny street.

Our group included our son’s family with 15-month old baby so the “upstairs/downstairs” arrangement was perfect: grandparents on the first floor bedroom with office, and son and family upstairs spread over the 2BRs there plus full bath including tub for child. Kitchen was spotless, including inside the cabs, with complete and thoughtful provision of kitchenware. An easy 2 blocks to the 17 mile walk (and an easy walk there to the Aquarium), and 2 blocks in the opposite direction to a great restaurant and coffee shop and 2 blocks across to a childrens playground. To our surprise, the small footprint of the home was very comfortable, affording both family togetherness and privacy when desired. Our host Michael was easy to communicate with. Entire experience was worry-free. A perfect getaway for our family.

Fantastic remodeled old home. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked, and it was in close proximity to the water. Only downside, which wasn’t a big deal, is that parking is limited to the street.

Loved staying at Saltbox!

I recently stayed here with my sister and brother in law while we were visiting Monterey. The house was very cute and well maintained with comfortable beds, great central heat, and a lovely kitchen. Check in was clear and easy! Would highly recommend for a cozy retreat.

A Little Gem

We had a fantastic stay at the Saltbox. It was the perfect size for our family and was stocked with everything we needed. Parking was a challenge, particularly on the night of our late arrival, but we made it work and got to brush up on our parallel parking skills. We loved the location and the quick access to PG, Pebble and Monterey. We can't wait to return next year.
