Disappointed
The staff were amazing, very helpful, the food was good. The hotel just seemed very dated. There was a damp smell in one of the corridors on our way to our room which got to us a bit.

Family room stay - disappointing
Family room was comfy but the condition of the beds and the bathroom were tired. Toilet roll holder missing and broken off the wall . The King size bed frame was chipped and one of the single beds was unstable . The shower was old fashioned and some hairs in the plug hole . We were going to have breakfast but didnMt because it was £6.50 for the continental which was bas silly a bowl of apples oranges and bananas and some cereal in small Kellogs boxes and a few butter croissant and the usual toast and marmalade . For £10.50 you could have the same buffet and a cooked breakfast . It wasn’t good value for money and the quality of the breakfast was poor so wouldn’t bother . For a one night Stopover it is ok. But again still pricey For the quality of the room . Premier Inn is better value and quality in comparison .
The hotel was very run down, cold as the central heating didn’t appear to be working. We paid 6.50 for the continental which was of very poor quality and was very limited, I did complain and they reduced the price. The bar and hotel closed at 10pm which was most odd on a Saturday evening...
What a lovely country hotel, it was very clean and very well run........, I would recommend the full English breakfast......., very friendly and helpful staff.

Lovely facility, room was nicely decorated, linens excellent and the staff was very accommodating

Pleasant Place with good food and service
The Westwood Inn is on the outskirts of Oxford. The Inn and gardens were very lovely and the dinner menu selections were very appealing and quite tasty. The check in staff and restaurant staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. Unfortunately the place feels a bit worn and could use a nice sprucing up. It was also on a busy road which did quiet down each night. If you are driving to Oxford and need a place with ample parking and good food The Westwood clearly fits the bill.
Lovely property! Away from the hustle & bustle of the city (& London). Our room was spacious and well lit. Having tea on the balcony on a sunny summer morning was a great holiday perk. Everyone of the staff was helpful and friendly. Appreciated their help in booking cabs to get us to & fro from the city.

My bed was quite old and not so comfortable. The paint of the walls was dirty and the carpet was also old. It need some improvement.

Good hotel near Redbridge Park + Ride, which made getting into Oxford easy. Lovely 4-poster bed but shame we could not get onto the balcony. Good food. Good staff, very helpful.
Let’s focus on the pros first - the hotel was easy to find, it was well sign posted and it's appearance on the outside was nice. There was also sufficient car parking. The welcome at reception was adequate and the check-in process reasonably fast.
Now the negatives...
1) The car park was extremely poorly lit at night with no lights except at ground level on one side – quite dangerous if walking out to get something from the car!
2) The hotel seemed to be operated by youngsters with no management direction visible and so small items like obtaining a printed receipt for bar drinks or turning the heating on became an impossible task.
3) The whole hotel was fundamentally freezing cold in all of the public areas. I spent an evening in the bar/restaurant with a colleague and endured freezing temperatures. I complained several times as did other guests who sat there wrapped up in coats and scarves.
4) The corridors and hotel room had an unusual smell – I can’t say what it was but it didn’t smell quite right.
5) After dinner I returned to my room where I found a constant never ending noise that sounded like a bathroom fan vibrating despite my bathroom light not being turned on. I went back to reception to explain and ask for help, where the receptionist seemingly didn’t believe me and sent me back to my room to wait for the sound to stop.
At the end of #5 I decided that it was not going to stay the night. I packed my bag, paid and departed; and shall not be returning!
The location is great in the outskirts of Oxford and in the middle of a forest. A park and ride for Oxford is just a couple of minutes drive from the hotel. Clean and quiet very charming oldish building.
I was disappointing to note that Expedia had made the Hotel "available" one week too early, which meant that the hotel was not expecting visitors until 4th March, despite booking to stay 27th Feb. However, the staff did exceptionally well to accommodate the guests.
The room was small and the bathroom wasn’t as clean as I would have expected. When I arrived the radiator had been left on full so the room was unbearably warm. The shower took too long to warm up and the water had a smell. On second night I arrived back at hotel at 5pm & went down to bar for food at 7.50 to be told they were not serving food as hosting a private function. I had to find food in a nearby Tesco express. The staff were not welcoming or friendly and when checking out at 7am there was no one on duty. I rang the extension number left and the manager was still in bed which was an inconvenience as needed a VAT receipt printed as was staying away on business trip
great little find, only stayed overnight but all the staff are super helpful. Beautiful little location, quiet despite being close to the main road.
Didn't have breakfast but dinner in the restaurant and service in the bar was jolly and very pleasant. A credit to all the team for sure.
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying here again for sure.

No Food. No Heating
What was otherwise a good hotel was let down by the level of service. At 8.30 I was told the kitchen stopped 15 minutes ago and there where no local alternatives, had to get a take away from Just Eat. Room was cold and heating not working, inadequate electric heater brought up but took till about 2am to get the room to an adequate but not warm temperature. Won't be booking in here again.
