"The room was spacious and clean, but needed soundproofing. The bathroom needed a tub. The view of the castle was very nice. The restaurant was bustling, the food was tasty. The staff were friendly. "

"Riverview Cottage is a well maintained, cozy, and well-equipped cottage. We spent a week here and couldn’t have been more pleased with the accommodations. The kitchen was very well-equipped. The separate washer and dryer made it easy to catch up with the laundry after a bit of traveling. Located 5 minutes from the Calanais Standing Stones, the cottage is conveniently located to other attractions on the west coast of Harris. While we would recommend doing any major provisioning in Stornoway, the Carloway Community store is only about an 8 minute drive away should you run out of milk or bread. Stornoway itself is an easy 30 minute drive away. We would definitely consider staying at this property again if we returned to Lewis & Harris. "

"We had a fab stay at this property. Great location and ideal base to explore. We stayed with our 2 dogs and the garden was secure for them. The beds were super comfortable which was great as there is nothing worse than a bad nights sleep when you are on holiday! The sofas were comfortable too. We found phone signal very sketchy and were unable to access netflix or prime but too be honest we were not there to watch telly so not really an issue! Kitchen was well equipped but did find there was a lack of storage for our food items and would also have liked a splash back behind the cooker for ease of cleaning - just minor points. Our host was super accommodating when our ferry was delayed due to bad weather and told us we could stay on at the property if we needed to which did take a weight off! All in all a great stay at this property."

"A lovely cosy cottage in a beautiful secluded location, within minutes walk of the rugged coast or a few minutes drive to a fabulous sandy bay. Facilities seem complete, with nothing else needed for our stay and the cottage was spotless and warm when we arrived.The entire region is visually stunning. Host is friendly and responsive if needed."

"Gorgeous cosy cottage with stunning views over the Uig sands. 3 generous double bedrooms, very well stocked kitchen including a double air fryer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, good WiFi. 2 minute walk to access the lagoon of Uig sands, we swam everyday. It’s a remote tiny village which really helps you get away from it all, but lots to do around the place, we did some lovely hikes, seatrek boat tour, visiting Luskentyre beach, and Butt of Lewis lighthouse. Loads of wildlife and saw white tailed eagles everyday Highly recommended and Christina was very responsive and helpful with our stay. "

"Beautiful cottage. Very comfortable and cosy with gorgeous artwork by one of the owners. Surrounded by wildlife. Pond in the garden with waterlilies and a gate down to the lochan. Everything was spotless and felt new."
