Sercotel Arenal Bilbao

10/10 Excellent

"A wonderful hotel in the old town and close to the river. The staff were lovely and extremely helpful. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. We found the air conditioning a bit underpowered - more of an air cooler than an air conditioner - but we did visit in a 40 degree heatwave! There’s a lift to the 5th floor but we were on 6th so if stairs are a problem I’d advise you to contact the hotel before your stay and ask not to be on floor 6. There is no parking at the hotel, but there is a large underground carpark less than 5 mins walk away. And the hotel will give you 10% discount on the cost. However if you have heavy luggage, it’s not an ideal place to stay because the entrance is in a pedestrian area so you can’t really drop luggage off before you park. The surrounding area is beautiful and full of bars and restaurants as well as stunning architecture. The Guggenheim Museum is a very pleasant 20 min stroll along the river. I will definitely book here if I visit Bilbao again."

"Hi! I’m Tamara. I just loved loved loved my stay @ the hotel, sad it was just for 1 night. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by the quaint, calm & quiet charm of the decor, as well as the amazing front desk staff. I was solo, so my room was on the small side, but the layout was amazing, so it doesn’t feel cramped. It’ll actually be perfect for couples, the bed is large enough & the bathroom is very spacious. I was too lazy to wake up for breakfast, won’t make that mistake again :) The location in the Casco Viejo aka Old Town is the cherry on top, such easy access to all types of shops & restaurants. My top choice for my next stay on Bilbao."
