It was weird... Came with my 28 year old and my 11 year old. The location is great as it was only a 1.5 hour drive. Checked in at 4pm. Checkin process was not bad, a little slow, but not bad. Facility looked clean and inviting. Entered our room, there was a moldy smell. Lights worked. Microwave OLD, refrigerator had a DEEP LARGE BURN MARK across the top, the TV remote was missing the back and was covered in tape, and CHALK WRITING on my balcony wall. In the bathroom, the robe hook on the back of the door was broken, the shower is LOUD and does not fully turn on, toilet was HARD to flush and LOUD, they REFUSE to give guests EXTRA bath towels, and there is NO HOUSEKEEPING and overheadthe staff saying they were OUT OF SHEETS. Regarding SAFETY... the door to our room was not properly installed.... meaning our door was on an angle causing a LARGE GAP between the door and the frame. Overall, the room was clean but VERY OUTDATED. The arcade was small but great for a small getaway. The Waterpark was also small, but just enough!!! Lazy river, splash zone, big water bucket, 2 slides. COOL! We did notice the windows in the Waterpark were broken and FULL OF FLYING BUGS that were coming into the park. I also noticed before 11am and after 7pm there are VERY FEW LIFEGUARDS and the waterpark is VERY BUSY. The water in the HOT TUB was MURKY and DEEP IN COLOR, is 16 and up, but everyone was in it. The restaurant was OLD and OUTDATED. Order incorrect.

We prepaid for a King Whirlpool Suite, and were put in a two double be room at checkin. Grand Bear said Expedia commonly overbooks, and room 308 was all they had available. I was told twice by management and staff to contact Expedia for a refund in the difference in price for the rooms. That appears to be about $80.00

I was worried about the room having read many bad reviews about cleanliness and bugs. Luckily we had no issues, the room was clean and spacious. All but one front desk staff member seemed kind of indifferent and not very friendly. The main disappointment was the water park. The water was very cold save for the tiny toddler pool and the hot tub. The water slides were closed and the kids water tower did not have either slide working. It kind of felt like a bit of false advertising as about half the features of the waterpark weren’t functioning. Lastly we planned to shower off in the locker rooms prior to leaving and were met with more cold water there, literally the water was warm for like 2 minutes and then went cold.

Staff seemed like they did not want to be there. Wi-fi for tv did not work. Fireplace made a high pitched very loud annoying sound When next door room ran water for hot tub. It made a very loud noise in our room through our hot tub. So loud we could not hear tv. Cable wasn’t even HD, horrible picture. Lastly, no running policy was not enforced and we heard running till 11pm and then starting at 6am. Will not stay again

Not the best, not the worst. To start had a great atmosphere and was cool that everything was all in one place. All of the staff while we’re there were pretty cool. The only time I had an issue with staff was when I called before coming to ask questions, the woman I called was pretty rude since I booked through Expedia and not them. The rooms are pretty gross, my kids were sitting on the carpet and got a little rash from it. (Room 232) Shower took at least five minutes to warm up, but the beds are really comfy! The room keys also kept deactivating so we had to get that fixed three times for our 2 night stay 🙃 The arcade was pretty great, Everything worked! A little expensive, but that’s expected. The waterpark was pretty awesome too. The only thing that sucked about it was the water was pretty chilly otherwise we would’ve spent a lot more time there, but it was too cold for kids to stay longer than a couple hours.

Really great value, no problems with the room. Helpful staff, lots of families were having fun in the waterpark. It could use a few updates, but I'm not overly picky about stuff like that. Clean and met all needs.

For the price, it was incredibly disappointing. It’s outdated, slides aren’t on, everything is old and dirty and it stinks like mold. The walls were like paper and there was no noise control. We paid the extra $69 to check in early and use the pool in the morning, exclusively from 10-11, yet there were people in there without the correct wristbands. Just felt like a ridiculously priced money pit that could have been money spent elsewhere and would have been much more worth it. Asking for prices that you do should be rethought. Also, we ordered a $20 large cheese pizza from the pizza place and it tasted like a giant piece of cardboard.

The staff is very friendly, the main areas were clean. They are in need of updates, the water park area needs heating updated and new windows to help in the winter also a major clean to the pool from build up. The water is freezing so not ideal for our winter getaway. Rooms are okay and need some updates , like the sliding doors are pretty drafty. There’s a lot to do that our small kids enjoyed other than the swimming like a movie on a projector in an area, table for coloring, arcade, ice cream shop.

You should take some refund requests into consideration such as my situation and refund my 1-night that I did not stay. Your workers have lack of empathy, gave no options and I did not receive my breakfast that I paid for in my package. Went on a weekday, took time off work for my daughters birthday. Went from Mon- wed (1/5-1/7) and water park was closed because it was “off-season” & “kids were back in school” was so upset! My daughters birthday was on a Tuesday and everything in Utica is literally closed! I checked out early and they wouldn’t consider a refund for the 1 night i didn’t stay. No empathy, no options, no nothing. Aside from this I paid for a breakfast package. When I asked at my check in they said I have to ask in the morning and they will give me a “box”, NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING!!! when i checked out in the morning, they didnt offer my breakfast for my family. Nothing what I expected. Who takes reservations for a waterpark resort when everything is closed? They said “because it is also a hotel”… ok, well say something at time of reservations on what is included! They advertised the waterpark, I reserved thinking it will not be so crowded since it was a weekday and to my surprise no activities were open…

Besides the toilet flush being very loud, the room was clean and up to par. We did have to wait three hours to check in, which was frustrating. When we asked for management, we were told by the front desk that there was no management in the building. It was a great stay aside from that.
