The place had everything you need inside the home for cooking, have all sorts of games if yhe weather is unfavorable. Outside has great deck space plenty of outdoor seating and the vies are awsome.
The home was great, with everything we needed. The location on the river was perfect for staying and relaxing or fishing. I highly recommend this rental.
This cabin is in a beautiful location on the river. Our family enjoyed fishing off the dock and bon-fires! Communication with the owners was fantastic! Would say again.
Nice place on the Ash river caught lots of five bass and some feisty pike on the river. Caught walleyes and almost a giant pike (broke off right next to the boat) on Namaken…. Lots of fun!
We just returned from a wonderful stay at Kim and Jay's home on the river. The setting is amazing and it feels very private as you look out on to the water. We cooked and grilled most nights, and the kitchen has everything you need. We brought our food, but also found a few things we needed at the grocery store in Orr. During the day, we explored the hiking paths in the area. You have beautiful views of the woods and the water, whether you are inside or out on the deck. I like to read, and found many comfortable spots throughout the home. It was a wonderful stay! Thank you!
I came with my parents, my 9yrs old son, and our dog. The experience was peaceful and the place beautiful! The property is amazing, clean, comfortable and beautiful. It is true that despite the stores it is very bright in the mornings because of the design of the house, but it the house is so pleasant that it doesn’t matter.
Don't be afraid of the goodlse poops on the water edges of the property (including one of the 2 piers, because after all, it is their place. We brushed it off with a pine branch and it was all ok.
We came to trek, but were disappointed to find out that we couldn't take our dog with us. This is the nature of all the national parks in the US.
We hired a canoe very close to us and we enjoyed exploring the river on which the house is overlooking. Be aware that it is a good idea to book a canoe in advance if you don't have already one.
There is one shop at the gaz station 10 minutes away, but there is nothing fresh there, so you need to plan in advance.
The owners were very friendly, and all was easy and pleasant.
We want to come back!
The only downside - which is nothing
Excellent place to stay near Voyageurs National Park hiking trails and waters. Clean and spacious. We loved paddle boarding with river otters right off the dock.
We had an amazing time! The location is beautiful and peaceful. We rented a boat and explored Kabetogama and Namakan. The home was comfortable, spacious, and had everything we needed. The hosts are very hospitable and knowledgeable about the area. We were given great fishing spots and places to stop out on the water. As a result, we had a truly memorable experience!
Our family of six – with four children aged 12 to 20 – had plenty of room in this fantastic house. The property was exactly as advertised in a tranquil location on the shores of the Ash River. The kitchen was well stocked, and there was plenty of room for everyone to relax. The firepit along the river was an amazing place to spend the evenings. The owners provided a smooth check-in/out process, and were quick to respond to any questions we had. Absolutely loved this property and would recommend it to anyone!
From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed. The scent of the pine was so fresh and invigorating.
The property was was kept up. Could launch our kayaks off the dock and meander down to the calming ash river falls, and enter Voyagers from the water.
We were 15 minutes, by vehicle, to one of the entrances of Voyagers National Park, we did some more kayaking there. Plenty of hiking trails.
Would highly recommend staying here.
The Belcastro’s are great hosts.
This beautiful house is immaculately kept and the property is so peaceful. It provides a unique experience from the hustle and bustle of Kab and the crowdedness of the main drag of the Ash River Trail. The daily visits from all the different types of wildlife were amazing. The owners are just as wonderful as the property as well. Great communication throughout the process. Jay was even kind enough to leave us some bait (in addition to the very thoughtful welcome gift) that had my kids catching pike off the dock within minutes of our arrival. Just a perfect experience!

Beautiful cabin
We enjoyed our time on Ash River. The cabin was well appointed and clean. The fishing was tough, but the weather was beautiful and we had a great time. We weren't real happy about the long, slow ride it took to get to the bigger water though. Also, the cabin was advertised to have 3 bedrooms, but bedrooms 2 and 3 were in the open loft with no privacy. Fine if you have kids, but we had 3 couples and that made it a little tough. Overall a great experience.
Jay and Kim are top-notch hosts. Great communicators and always a phone call away to help. Cabin is well appointed, super clean, new, and in a beautiful spot on the Ash River. We would totally stay there again.
A couple things of note: bring bug spray. It’s a bad mosquito year and a little bug spray will go a long way. Also note that it takes some time to go from their location down the Ash River to the Namakan lake. It’s mostly a no-wake zone. Which is pleasant. Trip from cabin to Kettle Falls is 1-1.5 hrs.
Thank you Jay and Kim.
The home at Bel Point is just incredible. It is situated on, and designed for, a beautiful bend on the Ash River. Everything about the layout invites the gorgeous surroundings in. It is private and tranquil. We used it as a base for a visit to Voyageurs National Park, which it is perfect for. The Ash River Visitor Center is twelve minutes from the house. So we were able to do a morning paddling interpretive program with the Park Rangers and then go back to the house for lunch and then back to the nearby trailheads for afternoon hiking. In the mornings, I would have my coffee on the two chairs on a little platform overlooking the river, and one morning heard 30 different bird species in less than half an hour, including a hummingbird at the flowers next to my head. So even if you aren't getting out on the river, the house and the outdoor spaces let you immerse yourself in nature. The bed was comfortable, and there were lots of places to relax and enjoy. The kitchen was well appointed, and Jay ensured the grill's propane tank was filled before we arrived. So we were able to grill steaks and vegetables, burgers, and make a hearty pasta dish easily.Kim and Jay had great recommendations, and they reached out in advance to make sure we felt welcome, which we did. Thanks again! We'd definitely like to return someday.
The house is absolutely beautiful, set in very peaceful surroundings. Morning coffee and listening to the birds on the deck by the river, picking blueberries and raspberries, and daily visits from a couple of deer were highlights for me, catching fish daily was the highlight for everyone else. My granddaughter caught a couple of nice pike from the dock. Check-in and check-out were both extremely easy as the owners provide very detailed instructions and lots of very helpful information about the home and the area. The "three bedrooms" is a little misleading, as it is two areas of a loft that have very little privacy, but for the kids it was suitable. Downstairs master bedroom had a huge, comfortable king bed and giant window overlooking the yard and the river. There was no place to store our clothes so we had to live out of our luggage but that wasn't a big deal, just a little inconvenient. The house has a lot of the owners' personal items and clothing, perhaps maybe because it's more a family home than a full-time vacation rental? The owners were extremely friendly and helpful before, during and after our stay. Perfect hosts! Cleanliness was impeccable throughout the house and surrounding property. It's obvious they take great pride in their home. I would definitely stay here again!
This property did not disappoint. The home is beautiful and the property felt very secluded. There were neighbors on both sides but they were not home - and even if they had been, the way the lot is situated, it felt private. The week we were there was pretty rainy, but the large windows in the home made it feel like we were still enjoying the outdoor scenery while staying indoors. The large beautiful deck was perfect for relaxing and eating and had enough space for all 5 adults and more! The river is very calm in this spot, so we were able to float and relax right there at the cabin.
We spent one day boating through all of the water ways up to the Canada border. (We rented from Sunset Resort which is only about a mile away). The views were breathtaking!
The owners were very friendly, informative, and wonderful to work with!
The only reason I didn't give the home 5 stars was because it was advertised as a 3 bedroom, however the second 2 "bedrooms" are just separate areas in the loft - so no privacy or doors to close to keep noise from the main living area out. But even knowing that now, I would still recommend this home and property!
A circle of victories for us. Hosts went the extra mile with welcome gifts, fishing spots and info on area! Property is beautiful and well maintained and on calm river which affords the opportunity to fish even if windy! Short trip by boat to big waters and excellent walleye fishing !
This cabin is amazing the owners are the best and so helpful! The place is beautiful
We rented this cabin with grandparents, kids and grandkids. The cabin is beautiful, it has everything you need and more. The owners were the best we have ever rented from. Called the night before to check and clarify anything. Helped when I txted about local beaches for the kids to swim. The dock and fishing area were awesome. This is a great place to stay for anyone!
