We had a terrible experience with Florida Vacation Homes and Villas. The day before check in, they sent the rental agreement. Most send this a week or more before. The oversight on their part required us to have to physically appear at their office despite sending all requested information via email. We went out of our way to do as they requested, only to find a sign on the door stating everyone was working remotely and only deliveries and servicemen should ring the bell. Unfortunately we had to call this poorly managed company five times during our encounter with them. Each time we spent around 45 minutes on hold on the call. When I finally reached a representative working remotely about this issue, we were 30 minutes from their storefront office. They still required me to make arrangements to meet someone back at that office in person to show my drivers license! Very inconvenient. In addition, the day before checkin, I received an invoice requiring much much more than the VRBO total price. After nearly two hours on the phone, most of which was sitting on hold, they realized that invoice was sent by them in error. I paid extra for pool heat. The first night, the pool was cool but warming. The second day, the pool was adequately warm. Then the heat quit. Pool was ice cold days 3,4, and 5. Could not reach anyone by email or phone other than for a true emergency. Yet they feel they are entitled to keep my money. The poor management company was the icing on the cake for this property. This property has a less than ideal location and is close to a busy road with vagrants walking by on the sidewalk, eyeing you in the pool. The privacy fence has been busted through leaving a large gap right behind this house. People climb through the fence and walk through the property day and night. Trash such as beer bottles and cigarette boxes and even undergarments left around walking path at resort complex were never picked up during our five days there. Inside the house, toilets had black rings in bowls, carpet extremely worn upstairs with large rips and nails sticking up. Kitchen barren. We had to go buy a Keurig! The management company did not have the means to provide one.
