The core offering is fantastic- house is actually BETTER than the pictures, and there’s more to do than we realized with Disney/Universal, Kennedy Space Center, Orlando Magic, Tampa Bay Lightening, etc.
But the house is entirely unmanaged by any personal owner. So everything there in terms of electronics and the pool and the cooking equipment, but there’s essentially no soap, spices, oil, etc. Just imagine buying a new house and having to buy almost everything but the equipment.
The pool isn’t heated by default - you have to pay handsomely, and it won’t be heated the day you get there or the morning you leave.
There’s a fabulous cinema room, lounge and outdoor entertainment area, but none of the electronics will work when you get there so plan on immediately calling the property managers to come by the first business day you’re there to set up whatever you want. A few of the PS4s etc don’t appear to be anywhere near operational so be sure to walk around with the person they send and have him/her fix whatever you want if it can be fixed.
Would we do it again? For sure. There are LOTS of rooms with ensuites, and the area itself has fantastic (if often unoccupied) houses. It LOOKS like the mosquitoes must be brutal in the summer because the other houses have screened in pools and this house has alarms if the outside doors are left open. But in a cloudy rainy December none of that was an issue.
And being from Toronto the 60 degree weather was more than warm enough for us!
So for sure rent this place - but be aware that you’ll have to make a massive run to Walmart when you get there and try to pre-book someone coming to the place to make everything work.
And of course be clear about the pool heating cost!
