Whether it's a cozy get away for two or a family retreat, our flexible rates will fit your needs.
The Overlook is nestled into the west facing slope on the edge of Yachats overlooking the Yachats River. It affords an uninterrupted view of the river as it flows into the Pacific Ocean kicking up the surf over a broad tidal beach, spouting horns, and rocky outcrops. This home has it all: the peaceful serenity of ocean views plus easy walking distance to the beach or the bustling center of town. Whether you’re in the mood for dining out, watching a movie, or simply unwinding from your fast paced life, at The Overlook you will find the best of both worlds.

After viewing the spectacular sunset from the wrap around balcony or through the ceiling to floor windows in the living/dining area, you can relax in the comfortable living room, cook in the gourmet kitchen, and watch TV or movies on the 40” High Definition LCD panel TV.

You’ll sleep comfortably in the master bedroom king sized bed. The en-suite bathroom has a jetted tub, separate shower, and large walk-in closet. Downstairs the guest room has a queen sized bed and shares a beautiful bath that includes a large tub with enclosed shower. The 3rd bedroom is set up for the kids with a bunk bed that sleeps 3 and a futon that could sleep 2 more. It has its own 36” TV plus DVD player!

Leave your car in the ample parking and walk two blocks to the local restaurants and shops. You can visit Luna Sea Fish House to buy your fish or dine there. Close by is the Green Salmon where you can have a cup of organic coffee or tea. Across the street is C&K market for all your grocery needs. Yachats has it all: a Sunday Farmer’s Market, an ice cream shop, gourmet wine shop, bakery, fly fishing shop, general mercantile, and more.

It is also an easy walk to both the South Shore Tidal Beach for fun in the sand and the North Shore 804 Trail which follows along the Yachats spectacular rocky coastline. The Yachats community is especially proud of the newly inaugurated Amanda Trail which winds its way south to the top of Cape Perpetua.

Dogs love the beach and are welcome to join you (2 Maximum) at The Overlook. The balcony can be closed off so your pooch can securely lounge in the sun. There is also a kennel in the garage where your dog can sleep comfortably while you are off shopping or beach combing.

We pride ourselves on our cleanliness. All of the bedding is washed after every rental. We take particular care after we have dog visitors. Our cleaning staff takes the extra time to steam clean the flooring plus they find and remove every nose print from the numerous windows!

We will be back again!

We have stayed here several times for spring break and it never disappoints. The location of this house makes everything fun to do in town, walkable. The view is breathtaking and the house is comfortable for our whole family. We jokingly call this, “our beach house,” because we have stayed here so much, and we will do it again!

Once again, a wonderful stay...

This is our 4th time staying at the Overlook. We still very much appreciate the well-outfitted kitchen, the beautiful view, and the proximity to the Green Salmon, the grocery store, etc. The new chairs in the living are great too!

A gem in the Gem of the Oregon Coast

Overlook was great

Yachats was good. Big storm rolling throughout our stay so we hunkered down, played games, and enjoyed this lovely place. Store and restaurant and coffee shops within walking distance. The view was spectacular. Watching the storm for our 3 days days was dramatic but we felt safe and sound. Coming from Alaska and Montana my family of 8 enjoyed it very much.

The Overlook is outstanding

Very well-kept property with an amazing view of the ocean / bay. Great location - easy walking distance to the grocery and local food and drink establishments. Would love to visit again.

Our go-to place in Yachats

This was our second visit, and we'll definitely come back. The house is clean, the kitchen well stocked, the view is fabulous, and the location, near the heart of Yachats, is ideal. We enjoyed beach walks, mushroom forays, and especially the little monsters we saw the night the whole community celebrated Halloween together.

big house with a fantastic view

There was a little mix up with house keeping, but the manager was very kind and made up for it. Overall the house suited us well and had a great view of the ocean. Lots of space and dog friendly.

Excellent property

We enjoyed the house and the town of Yachats. The house was very comfortable and had a fantastic view. The nearest road was under construction for water/sewer problems and they were noisy and sometimes in the way of departing from the house but we were very pleased with our stay otherwise.

Perfect Location

We had an amazing stay here. The house had plenty of space for our group of 8. The house was also well-stocked with all of the items we needed for our stay. The best part was the view and the location. We spent hours staring out at the ocean and river. We also loved being able to walk to all of the shops in Yachats. We hope that we can come and stay again!

Nice relaxing weekend

Great location, pet friendly. My daughter got married in town and had a bigger rental for her spouses family. I rented this for her siblings my partner and I. Smelt a little stale upon arrival but that dissipated with opening the windows. This house is well equipped with anything you could possibly want or need.

Friend reunion getaway

We gathered in Yachats to relax and catch up. It was a perfect spot where we could walk to the ocean, visit the tide pools and watch the beautiful sunsets. There were plenty of State Parks and cute tourist towns nearby to drive to for things to do. The kitchen and living area was great for cooking and relaxing. The bedrooms were nice, but better set up for a family with kids than all adults. But the beds were comfy and the rooms were quiet. We would recommend this property for a relaxing getaway.

Wonderful location and fabulous view

This was the perfect place for us to stay for three days while attending the Celtic music festival with friends. The location couldn’t have been better as we were able to walk back-and-forth from the property to the community center for all the events. Although the house is quite dated in terms of furniture and appointments, the views are fantastic and the space is cozy. The kitchen has all the necessary things for making meals and is even equipped with spices and condiments! We would definitely stay here again!

My sisters, mother and I had a wonderful sisters retreat here and found it very comfortable and acommidating. There are mutiplue was to enjoy the property. If you want to enjoy sitting on the deck watching the ocean. If you want shopping in cute shops with great sevice. If you want some of the best food on earth. This is the place for you. We will be comming back.

This rental had everything we needed. Games, bikes, beach towels/chairs. The kitchen was well appointed, has every gadget you could imagine and plenty of fishers, pans. Platters etc… The thermarest toppers on all beds were super cozy. The house was very clean and the views were amazing. Location is perfect for walking downtown and to the beach. We have rented many homes in Yachats over the years many right on the ocean but this one was pretty special. Looking forward to Thanksgiving next year. Thank you!!

Central coast getaway

Great location to walk all of this cute little town. One grocery store but lots of good places to eat. The views from this home are great! Ocean views straight -on. Furnishings need updates! Bed upstairs very good. Downstairs bad. No TV in basement master bedroom. VERY limited paper products and plastic garbage bags for daily trash. Good washer/dryer cheap detergent. Limited bath, hand and kitchen towels.

MEMORIAL DAY GET AWAY

Beautiful location, nice quiet neighborhood. Flowers all around! View was amazing from the deck or the interior of the living room/kitchen area. Bedrooms had nice linens, tons of beach towels, kitchen was equipped with everything you could need for the weekend or longer. I would highly recommend this place for a family get away, our elderly ladies did have help up and down the stairs. But the main level was great for them, to enjoy views and sleep in the master bedroom. We had a very enjoyable time and are planning the next trip at the Overleaf :) Oh and the air hockey table, pool table and the ping pong !! So many good books, games included too!! LOVE IT!!

We love the Overlook!

We had another great stay at the Overlook, a modern house with beautiful views and close to lots of great walks. There were a few light fixtures out, over the kitchen sink and undercabinet lights near the kitchen sink. It wasn't so fun washing dishes in the evening. I left two messages with the property manager and never heard back.

Overlook somewhat disappointing

Although an exceptional view and very walkable location, there were some misses. Missing lighting at outside entry and in hallway, out of order microwave, no hangers in closets and truly uncomfortable futons. Also beach access is a drive away and close by, walking to a beach outlook is achieved in minutes. Some bed linens had stains, some mildew-smelling towels. I paid the charge advertised and in full a month prior to our stay. About 2 weeks ago I noticed the same property we had booked for $28 less a night. Our stay was off season and spanning weekdays and weekend. Why were we charged about $30 more/ night? Vrbo and host didn’t give me an adequate explanation.. Probably would try other lodging if I visited again.
