We stayed at B&B Picaflor Tambo for 1 night before travelling on to Machu Picchu. Out of a 3-week trip in Ecuador and Peru, with 8 different accommodations, which were all good, this was my husband's favourite stay.
The staff were welcoming and helpful, giving us dining suggestions. The inn and our room were cosy and quaint, with a decor of beautiful local art and handicrafts. The bed was comfortable, and there were warm covers. We had a water jug which we could refill with purified water--something that was not provided at any of our other accommodations in Peru. We had no issues with the shower or the wifi, as a few other reviewers have had. (I suspect some reviewers may not be familiar with tankless hot-water heating. We also have this at home, and it can take a little bit longer for the water to get hot, especially on upper floors.)
Although we didn't use it, several varieties of tea, including coca tea, were available in our room.
Breakfast was delicious, and we loved the charming breakfast room.
Our room had a view of ruins and the aquaduct. We loved staying in the midst of Incan history.
Our experience here was brief, but pleasant and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again, if we are ever back in the area.
