"This hotel is honestly one of my favorites I have stayed at in Japan. Yes, the stairs are narrow and there is no front desk, but when booking they do let you know that (and it's in the description) so I had no issues before, during or after my stay. The hotel was roomy, clean, and comfortable for my group of 5 adults. I did need to reach out to staff to let them know I'd be leaving the hotel for a few days and they were quick with their response. The hotel is in a quiet and nice neighborhood...

Some good food / coffee options in walking distance. Room is relatively spacious with modest cooking facilities. On site coin laundry is good but access to an iron and ironing board would have been nice. Checkin via barcode took 2 minutes and was very easy. Can recommend easily and will be back - especially at price relative...
