"I was upgraded to a larger room with a great view, which I appreciated. But the manager arranged a driver who took me to a scam-like massage place. It was unsafe and I had to go to the Tourist Police myself to get a full refund. The manager, despite having recommended the driver himself, refused to take responsibility, and his response afterward was far from reassuring. The owner offered a discount the next day but never apologized. I had asked to use the “Pick Me” app, but was pushed to use their driver. For a solo female traveler, Pick Me is safer because of tracking and transparent pricing. The staff seemed unaware of this. Other issues: • The underground room could be seen directly from the balcony, which was also connected to the manager’s room. Sometimes he even spoke to me from the balcony. I had to keep the curtains closed even during the day to feel any privacy. There were no amenities such as shampoo. Also, there was only one old shared hair dryer for the whole hotel, and on some days it wasn’t available. I expected a peaceful stay, but instead felt constantly interfered with. The memory of the massage experience still troubles me, and even without that, the stay was not worth the price. While there were things I appreciated, I cannot say the overall stay was satisfying."

"We had an incredible stay at 98 Acres Resort & Spa during our trip to Sri Lanka. The resort is surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery, offering stunning views of the lush green hills and tea plantations. The location is perfect for relaxation, yet close to popular attractions like Little Adam’s Peak and the Nine Arches Bridge. Our room was spacious, beautifully designed with natural materials, and had a private balcony where we could enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Waking up to the sunrise over the hills was truly unforgettable. The staff was exceptionally kind and attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed. The food at the restaurant was delicious, with a great selection of local and international dishes. If you’re looking for a luxurious yet nature-immersed experience in Ella, I highly recommend 98 Acres Resort & Spa. We would love to stay here again on our next visit to Sri Lanka!"
