Very clean and safe hotel. Spacious room. Excellent shower. Booked as a solo traveller and for some reason received a (small/narrow) single person duvet on a double bed. Made sleeping very uncomfortable and cold. Hotel a la carte restaurant was closed, only a buffet available.... Was very poor quality ...

Hotel Herzog Georg is a real gem hidden in rural Germany. The size of room is larger than a standard European room and we were very happy to have 2 large size doubles for my wife and 15 yr old son. The room was big for a budget priced hotel. The bathroom was clean and fully functional. There's a standard German shower stall and a one-piece sink/countertop. Comfortable and relaxing, unfancy. Spacious kitchen/diner and large shared bathroom. Sauna and washing machine welcome. Good for groups, with many historic sites nearby. Caretaker very obliging. A few more kitchen utensils and flyscreens on the windows might be an idea.
