My husband and I, along with our teenage son and adult daughter, stayed in this beautiful condo for 10 nights. The pics don’t do it justice - the deck was amazing, hearing the sounds of the ocean all of the time, was the highlight of each and every moment. It’s a huge place, almost 3000 sq ft on one floor, so a group twice our size would be comfortable there. The furniture was comfortable and clean, the kitchen was well-appointed, and having 2 washers and 2 dryers was very handy.
A few minor inconveniences: sinks very small, so not many places to put your toiletries. The bedrooms were also a bit small, so we unpacked our suitcases and stored them in the laundry room. Also, since the living area was so huge, the bedroom size didn’t bother us.
Now for the biggest issue: organization/communication of how things work. The smaller issue: it was not evident how the furnace worked. We found the thermostat, but it seemed to get very cold at night (we were there late Nov, so the temp dropped into the 40s at night). All of the lights are on timed switches to save energy, so after the third night, I realized there was a switch near the thermostat which was identical to the light switches. Well - it was a switch for the furnace. An easy fix would be to explain this on the app that has the other info on it, or perhaps a note next to the thermostat explaining.
The biggest issue by far though was the keypad on the door. The adults in our group have traveled and also work in offices where a keypad door means the door is locked unless you enter the code. Nothing in the literature given to us indicated otherwise. Apparently this is not the case - there is a small button on the inside of the keypad that needs to be pushed in order to lock the door. We figured this out after a homeless man (!) entered the apartment at night and walked into our daughter’s room. It was obvious he was a squatter who was as surprised to see her as she was to see him. Her dog was with her, so this helped, plus she is a very quick, street-wise woman who spoke with him and escorted him out without any other incident. We immediately called the emergency number. Finally received a text back. Someone came by to check the property and he was gone. I complained to the office the next day. They said they would include more info on how the door locks for future rentals. I hope so, bc this put a damper on what would have been a perfect stay. We learned the hard way about the lock.
