"The place has a special meaning for guests visiting neighboring Philmont Scout Ranch but it will be a welcomed getaway for anyone seeking a nature themed Western getaway. The inn keepers were welcoming and courteous. The family table home made breakfast was a highlight of the stay. The rooms were down to earth luxurious . "

Anything needed for cooking was available. The house was clean. Check in could not have been easier. Communication with Cheryl and Mountain Serenity Rentals was very prompt and pleasant. A perfect stay in every way. "

"Grinning Bear Lodge was exactly as advertised. Quiet, peaceful, and yet close to activities and services. The lodge was very clean and well kept. Everything you need to stay and not leave if that’s what you want to do. Sit on the deck and view the wildlife and the stars. Even saw a bear on the property."
