The space
Light, updated studio with new kitchen and bathroom, this private unit is cozy, colorful, and well-stocked with everything you could need. Beautiful plants thrive indoors and out with a nice secluded garden on the ground floor of a house surrounded by a beautiful 6 foot redwood gate for privacy and security. Studio home overlooks lovely rear garden with trees, lawn and lots of plants & flowers; aloe, lavender, roses & an apple and very productive lemon tree. You'll have 1-step access to the rear garden as it's just outside your front door. The rear door in the studio is the laundry and the library, which you can enjoy during your stay.
This is not a good place for waiting out a quarantine if you have tested positive for COVID-19. Jesse is in chemotherapy, so immune supressed and the Hv/AC and laundry are shared. The hop tub is his, and not shared with my guests.
Guest access
The studio includes a kitchen with stainless steel full-size dishwasher, gas stove, & full-size fridge, large toaster oven, with dishes and utensils. Recently-renovated bathroom has large shower with glass partition, matching sink, toilet, & space in cabinets.
Dining area with counter-top height table & "leather" chairs, mini-seating area around coffee table with full sofa, plus dark-canopied sleeping area with queen size Tempurpedic and night stand, lamps on each side. Shared laundry just steps from your back door. Lovely rose & succulent garden with herbs, 186 square foot lawn for picnics and laying about in the Oakland sunshine.
Other things to note
Street parking- please pay attention to the street sweeping signs. I haven't had any issues, but I would strongly advise against leaving anything at all visible in your car as this is definitely an urban environment, just the same as San Francisco. The Laurel District is definitely one of the more upscale yet middle class neighborhoods in Oakland, & my home is very safe as you're surrounded by the tall redwood gate even when you're in the garden. All the lemons you could ever want are there for your picking. Or just tell me how many you want and I'll leave them in the fridge for you!
