Great beach house in one of the best locations on Oak Island. Short walking distance to the beach, many restaurants, grocery stores, gift shops, donut/ice cream shop, ABC store, intercostal waterway, nature park and picnic pavilion at ICW park. Plus, a dock 3 blocks away to launch kayaks and boat or do some fishing or boating. Also, in walking distance to kid's water park, mini golf and Middleton Park (which features live outdoor concerts, movie nights and festivals regularly throughout the summer), tennis and basketball courts and playground are all in walking distance as well. Walk or grab a golf cart to get around and enjoy all of what OKI has to offer.

Renovated 3 bedroom, 2 bath house sleeps 8. Large fully fenced in deck area with patio and grill. Deck extends to back where there is a backyard firepit area and enclosed outside shower. Enjoy smores at the firepit, a game of cornhole, dinner/ drinks or sun on the deck, watch movies on wifi TVs. The house has a queen in master, twins in second bedroom and double and twin in front bedroom, as well as queen sofa bed. Linens and bath towels provided at NO ADDITIONAL FEE. Well stocked kitchen, so cooking is a breeze and a large pantry for plenty of storage.

Head to the point to see where the ICW meets the sea and listen to pirate tales on summer nights. Stroll the beach to hopefully see a few turtle nests and some amazing sunsets. Southport is a 10 min drive and has a great downtown area with shops, antique mall, brewery, wine stop, waterfront parks and great waterfront restaurants. NC Aquarium is close (15 min ferry from Southport to Ft Fisher). Bald Head Island ferry can also be taken from Southport. The waterfront in historic downtown Wilmington is a 30 min drive, as well as USS North Carolina Battleship, which is open for tours.

Walk the beach at the Caswell end of the island and see our lighthouse, enjoy gulf on the island, plenty of watercraft rentals options (kayaks, paddle board, canoes, boats), water tours are available from several places in Southport. Throw your fishing line in the ICW or into Davis Canal. Also, 2 fishing piers. Great location for cycling as well.

A Shore Thing is definitely a sure thing for a wonderful beach vacation. The house is comfortable and well stocked with everything you could need. The outdoor deck and back yard are amazing. The communication with the host was warm and responsive. Close and easy walk to the beach. Lots of groceries and dining places within walking distance. I can’t wait to go back!

The house and neighborhood are beautiful. We came in the off season and it was a great getaway for a quiet beach weekend. Plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 teenagers.

Great home!

The photos don't do it justice! It's a great location and wonderful property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the home was definitely well equipped. We were able to bop right across to the beach and the backyard/deck is a wonderful place to hang out!

Perfect Beach House

Well maintained and beautifully decorated beach house in a convenient location. Everything you need is provided. Private outdoor sitting area with corn hole. Four beach chairs and boogie boards means there is less packing for the trip. Lots of games and puzzles for all ages. Convenient to the beach, restaurants and grocery stores.

Great trip to Oak Island!

This was our second time staying at this property and it was just as great this time around. The house is adorable, but we love the location. We really like that we are able to easily walk to the beach, grocery store Kai Joe's and out for ice cream.

Sisters Get-away Weekend

I booked A Shore Thing for our get-away weekend. The house was beautiful! And the outside deck was an enjoyable place to spend mornings drinking coffee. We loved the location - very close to Southport. I would love to stay at this house again! Thank you, Bernice, for being such a great host.

Perfect getaway for families with small children!

A wonderful spot for our writing retreat

My friends and I couldn't have been happier with our stay at A Shore Thing. The three of us enjoyed our private bedroooms and the shared living room and outdoor patio were perfect for our get togethers. Cooking was fun and easy because the kitchen was so well equipped. We appreciated the fancy coffee machine and the little snacks that were left. We loved the five minute walk to the grocery store and the beach. The neighborhood was calm and peaceful. Definitely a five star visit! I would like to return with my husband.

Quiet, family vacation

The pictures online really don’t show how beautiful the home truly is . well decorated comfortable the beds were comfortable. Everyone had their own quiet little location outside was awesome. Our family barbecued for Easter weekend and we had wonderful family time. The beach is very close by. You have Variety of places to go eat whether it’s seafood or ice cream it’s in an extremely good location whether you want to walk bike ride or drive your car . Ms. Bernice thought about everything there was nothing in the home that was missing and inclusive of an extremely well stocked kitchen . anytime I contacted Ms. Bernice just with a general question, she responded almost immediately. We highly recommend her home and will be repeated guest. 😊 Thank you!

Thanksgiving with Family

The property and facility was excellent. Highly recommend to anyone needing a place to stay while in Oak Island, NC. The accommodations were excellent for the five adult members of our family. Would definitely book another stay when visiting Oak Island again!

Perfect stay!

Just spent the weekend with a group of girlfriends, and the house was perfect! Everything was so clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. We really appreciated all the amenities, including a bowl of yummy snacks. The outdoor deck area was super relaxing and we enjoyed one of our nights around the fire pit. Bernice was very responsive as a host and we would not hesitate to stay at this property again.

A great place to stay at Oak Island

I could not have asked for a better place to stay with my family. We were only there three days and it rained part of the time. The place made the rain a little more acceptable. When the rain left we enjoyed the beach and some of the local attractions. More than enough kitchen stuff to prepare our meals there. Would stay again in the future.

Delightful cottage getaway with ocean beach access

Beautifully modernized cottage, clean, comfortable, with a wide variety of amenities. Located in quiet residential neighborhood. Very responsive owner. Easy check-in.
